After reading a post about a man who has cut off his son and now refuses to see his new grandchild, Reddit users are somewhat torn about a verdict for this recent story.

On Monday, one man took to Reddit and, over three paragraphs, broke down some family issues he has been having for the past few years. It's led to him disowning his son.

It's been six years since the father-son pair have seen each other, whereas the man is on good terms with his daughter. He listed his reasons in his post.

LIVING WITH SON AND DAUGHTER-IN-LAW

After marrying a woman neither the man nor his wife liked, the son also made poor financial decisions. It led the younger couple to move in with the man and his wife.

Following six months after the move, the daughter-in-law and the man's wife had a screaming episode supposedly because of a lipstick disagreement. In reality, it was much deeper than that.

The man told the son he would have to move out. The son refused, saying it was illegal to evict him and his wife since they had been there for over 30 days. He was right, and so a court battle ensued.

ENDING A FATHER-SON RELATIONSHIP

It took several months before the man and his wife convinced the legal powers to kick out their son. During that period, the wife would often scream, and the drama was unbearable for the man.

The day his son finally left, the man told him never to contact him again, not even if he were dying. Fast forward to today, it's not death, but a life that might bring the father and son back together.

AT A CROSSROADS WITH GRANDCHILD

Recently, the daughter-in-law called crying, saying that the man's son missed them and would like them to meet their grandchild. The man's wife agreed to do so. He explained:

"[...] She really doesn't want to meet the baby, she just felt guilty. She is now begging me to go with her because she's uncomfortable, but I never want to see either of them again, and that baby is nothing to me."

The comment section was filled with persons claiming that a lot of parts were missing from this story. Ultimately, most people voted that the family was dysfunctional, and everyone is at fault.

MAN LETS WIFE STAY IN JAIL

This week, another man came to Reddit about his dilemma in letting his wife spend a night in jail. It began when the man's parents changed their will to leave him and his wife only ten dollars.

The man has a brother who is clearly the favorite of his parents. They seem to have changed the will because they dislike the man's wife. Eventually, the parents gave the man an ultimatum.

He would have to divorce his wife for half of the estate. The man's wife heard the offer and began yelling at his mom. The man's parents did not want the drama, so they tried to drive off. Things only got worse.

WIFE RUNS AFTER PARENTS' CAR

The man's wife then chased the parents' convertible. She was able to jump into the backseat. The parents called the police, who put the wife in jail. Angry, the man made his wife stay for the night because he didn't want to wake the kids to get her.

He bailed her out the next morning, and the couple is now on bad terms. The man now wants to know whether or not he was in the wrong for not bailing her out earlier.
