"Good Times" star BernNadette Stanis struck a pose alongside her sister Debbie, looking like a mirror image of each other as they shared a throwback photo from a time before the COVID-19 pandemic.
BernNadette Stanis and her sister, Debbie donned matching black outfits as they smiled at the camera during a visit to Florence, Italy. Stanis further informed that the photo was taken during their January visit to the Italian city.
In the picture, Stanis and Debbie looked like twins as they flashed their radiant smiles at the camera while also sporting similar outfits. However, the "Good Times" star differentiated herself by wearing a cap.
THAT 70’S STAR!
Stanis is most remembered for her iconic role of Thelma Evans on the sitcom "Good Times" from the 1970s. The CBS show which aired from 1974 to 1979 propelled her career to new heights.
However, decades later, Stanis still keeps herself busy with acting projects. Her more modern work was released as recently as 2016 in the movie, "36 Hour Layover."
In a previous interview, Stanis opened up about her experience on "Good Times" and shared her views about the reasons behind the show's popularity. She explained that the show follows a simple and realistic life of a family and portrays their feelings and emotions in a relatable way. Due to this, Stanis pointed out, many people can resonate with the story even today.
Stanis is also a devoted social worker fighting a battle against Alzheimer's.
FAMILY VALUES
The veteran actress further stressed, as per the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, that her show taught television audiences about the importance of family and the need to provide love and care for one another.
Stanis also opened up that the character of Thelma bore a lot of resemblance with her in real life. She pointed out that, like Thelma, she too wanted to just be a good girl until she was married.
REMEMBERING THELMA
In another interview, Stanis even attempted to hypothesize where her character, Thelma, would have been today. The actress guessed that Thelma must have become a doctor by now, something that she always wanted to be,
Furthermore, the actress even gave her vote of approval to the potential remake of her popular show. She further opined that people may like to see a revival of the popular 70’s sitcom.

On top of being a popular actress, Stanis is also a devoted social worker fighting a battle against Alzheimer's. She has even established her own foundation to fight the condition, named RememberingtheGoodTimes.org.
Stanis, who is the author of the book, “Situations 101: Relationships,” got the inspiration to fight the horrible disease after her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
