Hollywood Life: Julianne Hough Put a Lot of Effort into Working on Marriage before Divorce
Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich have called it quits officially after the “DWTS” dancer filed for divorce early this month. According to reports, Hough put in a lot of work to make things work, but it didn’t pan out.
After about three years of marriage, Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich have officially ended things. On Monday, November 2, the dancer filed for divorce about two months after the former lovebirds opened up about plans to reconcile.
Laich and Hough recently took a romantic vacation to Idaho about four months after revealing their decision to separate. According to a source, the professional hockey player and Hough have settled for being just friends as they didn’t want the same things in their relationship.

However, their decision to go their separate ways didn’t happen until after each party, especially the two-time Mirrorball Trophy winner, had worked hard to fix their differences. The insider said:
“Julianne really wanted to put every effort into working on her marriage to Brooks before calling it quits for good. She didn’t want to have any regrets…”
In September, it was reported that Laich and Hough wanted to give their marriage one more try after about four months away from each other.
The source added that Hough didn’t want to look back and wonder if she should have done some things. However, in trying to work things out, the professional dancer has realized that she is much different from the person who got married to Laich in July 2017.
Despite the split, the insider mentioned that Laich remains a fantastic guy as he did nothing wrong and would always have a special place in Hough’s heart. Another source explained that the duo simply grew apart due to their different visions about family and career.
In September, it was reported that Laich and Hough wanted to give their marriage one more try after about four months away from each other. The duo had reportedly done some soul searching in their time apart and discovered that there was a lot of love in their hearts for each other.
During the time of the reconciliation, the 32-year-old “Footloose” star shared a clip of herself working out on the porch of a home that was featured in Laich’s Instagram story earlier that day.
The former Toronto Maple Leafs player has, however, not been taking the breakup well as he opened up about how he has been faring emotionally. The 37-year-old admitted that he has been much more in touch with his emotions much more and has cried frequently because of the split and the loss of his two dogs.
The former couple first met in 2013 when Hough’s family attended a motivational seminar where they were introduced. It was love at first sight for them, and by February 2014, they confirmed their relationship.
In August 2015, the duo announced their engagement and tied the knot about two years later in July 2017. Two years into their marriage, Hough came out with a shocking revelation about her sexuality, saying she’s not straight. She, however, noted that her orientation has only helped improve her marriage with Laich.
