Woman Kicks Her Husband Out of Their Kids Room — Here's Why
In today’s story, a woman narrates the very unpleasant situation she has been experiencing with her husband, who apparently became obsessed with a gaming console.
On November 24, a woman took to Reddit to share how her relationship with her husband has gone sour in the past few weeks.
The Reddit user started explaining that she bought her son an Xbox for his 13th birthday last month, adding that she paid for it with her own money as her husband considered that a gaming console was “useless” and they shouldn’t spend money on it.

Shortly after buying it, her husband changed his mind and started playing with their son. However, as time went by, the man completely took over the Xbox and wouldn’t even let the kid play – not even during the weekends.
The woman’s husband would play from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., sleep until noon, and then visit gaming stores or his friends or nephews’ homes to buy and borrow new games.
The man “blew up” on her because she ruined his game.
If that wasn’t enough, he would yell and curse at the screen while playing in the living room, even if their children were there. Instead of sitting at the table to eat, he would just eat in front of the screen.
Apart from that, whenever their children asked him to help them with their homework, he would tell them he’s "busy.” In the meantime, the woman felt invisible.
The man’s gaming obsession even affected his work as he would ask someone else to cover for him, offering dinner or money in return.
After a while, he moved into the children’s room to be more focused on his games, which significantly affected the kids’ sleeping schedule as he never stopped yelling and cursing.
The night before the woman posted the story on Reddit, her daughter went to her room asking if she could sleep with her because her dad wouldn’t let her rest due to all the noise.
That was the straw that broke the camel’s back. While the man kept asking his wife to give him “a few minutes,” she simply unplugged the Xbox and told him he could not play anymore in the kids’ room as they needed to sleep before school.
The man “blew up” on her because she ruined his game and made his life miserable. He even claimed that she was a controlling person for the way she handled the situation.
Most readers supported the woman and pointed out that she was not at fault, adding that the Xbox clearly became an obsession for him and that he probably needed counseling.
Here’s a similar story about a different woman who removed the door of her 15-year-old son’s room for disrespecting his sister’s privacy.
