THE FIRST DAUGHTERS
In 1989, George H. W. Bush became the 41st president of the United States and America met Jenna and Barbara. At the time the twins were just 8 years old.
Jenna and Barbara, who are fraternal twins, are the only children of George W. Bush and his wife Laura, and when they were 19 their White House connection was upgraded, when their father became the 43rd POTUS.
The twins wrote a memoir in 2017, "Sisters First: Stories from Our Wild and Wonderful Life" about their experiences
Jenna offered a glimpse into her life and her bond with her twin Barbara by sharing a sweet gallery of snaps. In the first, two tiny newborns lie side by side, turned towards each other.
In the second photo, the two girls are with their mother, Laura, wearing identical red tartan dresses with black peter pan collars, and smiling hugely.
In every single photo, the two girls are together, and the bond between them is palpable, even in the last snaps, which are recent. Jenna captioned the post:
"Happy birthday to my partner since birth. I don’t know life without this beautiful, giving gorgeous soul—and wouldn’t want to."
The Bush girls have celebrated their bond by writing a book together, "Sisters First," a sweet story about a girl who prays for a sibling and is rewarded with a baby sister.
The twins wrote a memoir in 2017, "Sisters First: Stories from Our Wild and Wonderful Life" about their experiences, including being daughters and granddaughters to presidents.
"Today" TV host Jenna shares three children with husband Henry Hager -- daughters Margaret, 7, and Poppy, 5, and son Henry, 1, who was the family's biggest surprise.
Barbara, who is a health activist, married screenwriter Craig Coyne in October 2018, and the couple have no children yet. The Bush sisters have become close friends to two other First daughters, Malia and Sasha Obama, who may well be the only two other sisters in the world who understand their own experience.
