Unfortunately, she has experienced people trying to shame and judge how she has chosen to parent her kids, including her latest decision to send Harvey to a full-time care home.
The decision was not made lightly, as she shared that it is difficult to decide. Still, ultimately it would be good for him as it will help him to be independent and allow him to socialize with others, Price shared to Us magazine:
“I’m trying to give him the best I can in life to be independent and have his own choices. "
She shared that people have criticized her for posting pictures of her teenage son, to which she said to Us magazine that he was proud of his photos and wanted to show off.
People have also criticized that her two daughters are allowed to wear makeup. However, Price expressed that all girls love to wear makeup, and she would not stop her daughters from doing so.
Harvey suffers from a few conditions, namely sept-optic dysplasia, which caused him to be born partially blind.
The author and reality star revealed that her answer to all the criticism she faces is in the form of her new documentary, "Katie Price: Harvey and Me."
The show will document her and her son's relationship and struggles. She shared that it is upsetting that he will not be at home every day and that his siblings will miss him as she said:
"It’s so upsetting to think I won’t see him every day but this is the best thing for Harvey and we have to think positively."
The reality star had her firstborn with the former football player Dwight York. However, he has only seen Harvey a few times in his life.
In fact, Price shared to her Instagram in 2020 that when Harvey was critically ill in the hospital, York had still not visited or sent a message to find out about his condition.
Harvey suffers from a few conditions, namely sept-optic dysplasia, which caused him to be born partially blind. He had Prader-Willi syndrome, which caused his weight gain, and he is autistic.
Despite the harsh criticism Price receives about her children and parenting, there is no doubt that the mom of 5 fiercely loves her children and is always trying to do what she believes is the best for them.
