The evening at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's residence reportedly brought together a mix of guests, including VIPs and film executives, in what insiders described as a warm and welcoming setting.

While the couple's appearance alongside the Sussexes drew attention, sources told media that Brooklyn and Nicola had been invited well before David Beckham's global birthday celebrations, suggesting the timing was purely coincidental.

Brooklyn and Nicola have been notably missing from recent Beckham family gatherings. Their absence was especially apparent during David's 50th birthday celebrations, which they were reportedly invited to but did not attend. Their absence fueled speculation about ongoing tensions.

However, a source claimed, "The relationship is definitely not beyond repair. They love and are always there for him. They're just hurt and disappointed that he's now playing no part in family life."

Meanwhile, at Harry and Meghan's place, the Beckhams were said to have enjoyed themselves. "Brooklyn and Nicola had a wonderful time and found Harry and Meghan to be particularly kind, caring and generous," an insider revealed.

However, the dinner has sparked renewed speculation amid ongoing tension within the Beckham family. Though Meghan and Harry weren't the ones to extend the invitation directly, their connection to Brooklyn and Nicola during a time of apparent strain with David and Victoria fueled online commentary.

Some online reactions came in strong as fans took to the comment sections to share their thoughts on the royal couple dining with Brooklyn and his wife.

One unimpressed user didn't hold back, writing, "They need to stay home and live a quiet life like they said they wanted to 😕." Another person remarked, "Meghan stirring the pot." Someone else chimed in, "Of course they do. They love breaking up families."

A skeptical commenter speculated about motivations, "Ofcourse [sic] they did that, Nicola has money, for sure they will milk it if true." Another person commented on their behavior, "This is a new low, even for them."

Some fans drew conclusions, sharing, "Harry and David Beckham were once good friends but no longer. Of course they would invite them over, 'hey come over here & sit next to me' (we'll badmouth your parents with you) Just their style."

Taking a broader view of the situation, another user declared, "Both couples are very in the wrong! 😑." One person dismissed the rumors, "There's no family drama they're having hissy fits the real family are just living their life without regards to them." And finally, a fan predicted some serious fallout, "Victoria is going to be livid."

Harry and Meghan's dinner also took place as tensions persist within the 40-year-old's own family. He and Meghan remain estranged from the royal family, and recent developments have highlighted the continued distance.

In early May, Prince Harry shared publicly that communication with his father, King Charles III, had broken down. He noted that he doesn't know how much time his father has as the monarch continues cancer treatment.

Despite the strained ties, Harry was hopeful, saying, "I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point in continuing to fight anymore."

In light of the recent developments, family therapist Diana Parkinson, who has nearly four decades of experience, told the media that healing within both families, the royals and Beckhams, will require effort and, most importantly, privacy.

She noted that while the royal family has long been under intense public scrutiny without much say in the matter, the Beckhams have actively embraced the spotlight, shaping their family into a public brand.

According to Parkinson, both families face the challenge of repairing relationships while living under constant media attention, making private reconciliation essential.

"The Beckhams seem to want to present themselves as a united family but three of their offspring are now adults and should be enabled to lead their own lives," she explained.

Parkinson urged that the two families to step away from the spotlight and know each other privately. The therapist feels this is the only way precious and irreplaceable relationships are healed.

"True, loving relationships are built on trust and have no need to be publicised or explained to anyone outside the family circle. Any relationship which exists on publicity has nothing to do with love," she declared.

Even so, Parkinson acknowledged that Harry's circumstances differ slightly, especially given the presence of young children and the limited control he had over growing up in the public eye.

She offered a more critical view of Victoria and David Beckham's approach, suggesting that their decision to place their family life in the spotlight was intentional. Parkinson questioned the extent of their exposure, even raising the possibility that the situation could be part of a "publicity stunt."

"Living their lives so publicly has created a very unhealthy environment and it means that when you put everything out there sometimes things you don't want out there will be made public also. Such as this current situation," noted Parkinson.

Moving forward, Parkinson emphasized that if the Beckhams hope to mend their relationship with Brooklyn Beckham, those efforts should happen away from the public eye. She noted that regaining a sense of a normal family dynamic requires privacy and intention.

Drawing from her professional experience, Parkinson explained that many families facing similar estrangements work through their challenges without sharing the intimate details with the world, something she believes is crucial for genuine healing.

"I would suggest they sit down and talk with Brooklyn privately. Ideally with a therapist present who is a neutral party," the therapist said.

Meanwhile, as much as she acknowledged the complexities of Harry's situation, Parkinson also advised that any attempts at reconciliation should be handled privately.

She suggested that further interviews, like the one he gave to the BBC, may do more harm than good when it comes to rebuilding trust and repairing relationships within the family.

Parkinson emphasized that both families need to step back from the spotlight if they hope to repair their relationships.

She noted that while it's challenging for those who have built careers around public exposure, genuine connection can't be restored through staged or publicized efforts. Spending time together privately, without turning it into a spectacle, is essential for meaningful reconciliation.

Aside from the therapist, a royal expert has also weighed in on Harry's ongoing feud with the royal family. The royal expert believes that King Charles's silence is part of a deliberate and deeply rooted royal strategy.

Following a significant legal loss over security provisions in the UK on May 2, the Duke of Sussex shared that Charles has remained unresponsive to his attempts at communication. Royal expert Christopher Andersen believes there's a clear reason why Charles has yet to engage publicly or privately with his son.

"It really does look like Charles is taking the 'Keep Calm and Carry On' axiom to a whole other level, doesn't it?" noted Andersen. The royal expert explained, "The King is only hewing to a long-standing royal practice of not dignifying something by commenting on it. The Palace does not want to give oxygen to Harry's remarks."

Andersen added that Charles is dealing with numerous personal and public responsibilities, and engaging in a public dispute with his son offers no benefit. He noted that Harry, on the other hand, has taken the opposite approach, something clearly reflected in his headline-making BBC News interview.

The royal expert suggested that Harry went public, likely due to the ongoing private silence from the palace. "It must be terribly frustrating for him not to even be able to get through to his father on the phone. There's a real Catch 22 here: As long as the Palace ignores Harry in the vain hope that he'll go away, it puts him in the position of having to amp up the volume of his public comments," he speculated.

Andersen also believes Harry may genuinely want reconciliation but sees his approach as counterproductive, saying, "If Harry really wants to reconcile with his family, he has an odd way of showing it."

Andersen pointed out that while Harry has voiced a desire to mend ties with his family, he has also accused the palace of interfering in his legal battle. Harry questioned their concern for his family's safety and stated that he currently can't imagine returning to the UK with Meghan and their children, Archie and Lilibet.

Yet, as per Andersen, in the same breath, Harry cites his father's declining health as a reason to reconcile, an appeal that seems at odds with the harsh claims he's made publicly.
