Carman Licciardello's Lost Cancer Battles — Look Back at His Constant Fight for Life

American gospel artist Carman Licciardello lived a thriving life making music about the good things in life. However, towards the time of his death, Licciardello battled several health complications.

Award-winning gospel singer Carman Licciardello has passed on after battling health issues that spanned many years. The music star lost his life at a hospital in Las Vegas.

During his lifetime, Licciardello garnered fame, making a name for himself and backing it up with many accolades and milestones. However, things went downhill in 2013 when he was diagnosed with cancer.

LICCIARDELLO BATTLED MYELOMA

In 2013, Licciardello was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of cancer that affects the plasma cells in the bone marrow. The prolonged effect results in kidney failure, damages to the red blood cell, bones, and immune system.

For years, the music star was a fighter, battling multiple myeloma and attaining different recovery stages. However, he let fans know last year that the terminal illness had returned.

Licciardello kept on being hopeful, taking to social media to ask his fans to keep praying for him while he underwent treatments for his ailment.

SEEKING GOOD HEALTH

In 2015, Licciardello seemed elated. He posted several pictures of his health progress after undergoing intensive chemotherapy sessions. The star took to social media to share photos of himself on his hospital bed and other snapshots that showed him in good health.

On February 16, 2021, Licciardello's manager, Matt Felts, announced that he had died.

Licciardello gushed about God's grace, noting that it was a beacon of hope that helped him go through rigorous treatments to be cancer-free. He also outlined different treatment methods, from injections in his sternum to having ports inserted into his chest to his fans.

Licciardello noted that through it all, he never for once questioned God, never got angry at the state of his health or fell into depression. The star shared that he stayed strong, having in mind that fans were rooting for him and keeping him in their prayers.

By 2017, Licciardello got another sad news after he went for his routine check and his doctor discovered a tumor the size of a golf ball in his shoulder. Prior to that, Licciardello was preparing to record a song about his cancer healing.

LICCIARDELLO TIES THE KNOT

For the long span of his career, Licciardello was known for his soul-stirring music and for being unmarried for years. However, he decided to change his status at the age of 61 when he got married to Dana Licciardello.

At the time, the singer's cancer was in remission, and he shared in an interview that he felt it was time to change his status as a bachelor. They celebrated his love life, and he showed that he was grateful for life and his large family.

The star also established that he would keep making music and winning souls. He would later get news about the return of his multiple myeloma. He also suffered heart attacks in 2016.

LICCIARDELLO PASSES ON

A few days into 2021, news got out that the music icon was hospitalized after suffering some complications. This was after undergoing surgery for a hiatal hernia. The star was rushed to the hospital due to pneumonia complications.

While Licciardello was hospitalized, his representative kept fans updated on social media, noting that he responded slowly to treatment due to many cancer treatments.

During his admission to the hospital, the star also sent out a message to fans. The late star wrote that he was bothered about his state of health, particularly about his age, because his dad and brother both passed at 65.

On February 16, 2021, Licciardello's manager, Matt Felts, announced that he had died. He is survived by his mom, wife, and extended family members.
