Jessica Simpson Reveals How Supportive Husband Eric Johnson Was as She Was Writing Her Memoir

Jessica Simpson promoted her New York Times bestseller, "Open Book," and revealed the part her husband, Eric Johnson, played in enriching her character.

Jessica Simpson is undoubtedly a talented singer, actress, fashion designer, and most recently, an author. The multi-talented star recently penned her memoir, "Open Book," which says a lot about the relationship she has with her family.

The doting mom recently had a sit-down interview on "Good Morning America" to talk about her New York Times bestseller and revealed how supportive her husband, Erick Johnson, had been through the writing process.

"He really just nurtured my character along the way," the singer shared. "After every therapy session I would have and the journal entries I would go through, I would share with him, and it just ended up becoming a memoir."

Johnson was very open and understanding of his wife's vision of having the world know her story on a deeper level. According to the "I Wanna Love You Forever" artist, Johnson went through every chapter and every emotion with her.

The couple tied the knot seven years ago at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, California, after first dating in 2010. In previous interviews, the actress had nothing but praises for her loving husband.

Simpson revealed that she wanted her relationship to look flawless on-screen and on social media when things were different in reality.

"He's very supportive, and he's very proud, so now, with all the new things I have coming in my career, I can't wait to experience it with him by my side," the star added during the virtual interview.

According to Simpson, her book's title perfectly describes how she is with her children, holding nothing back from what she experienced before they came into the picture, including her inner demons.

The star's relationship with her ex-husband, Nick Lachey, was also included in her book. The pair married each other in 2002 and went separate ways after three years and three seasons of their reality show, "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica."

Simpson revealed that she wanted her relationship to look flawless on-screen and on social media when things were different in reality. Added in her book was how her career was a factor in destroying the marriage.

Recently, Simpson announced her new on-screen project with Amazon Studios, where her life story, highlighting her 20s, will come to life. Her role will include being an executive producer.

The show will reportedly have no script and will include never-before-seen footage of the star, following her career as a singer, family, starting a business, and her recent journey towards sobriety.
