Casey Anthony's Life after Being Released from Jail — Her Parents, Movie, And Investigation Firm
Caylee Anthony’s death shocked the world, but especially Florida, in 2008. Now, Casey Anthony (Caylee’s mother, charged with first-degree murder) wants to help wrongfully accused women.
Two-year-old Caylee was supposedly seen for the last time on June 16, 2008. On July 15, a month later, the toddler’s grandmother, Cindy Anthony, reported her missing. The following day, Casey was taken into custody.
Initially, she was charged with child neglect, but that was only one of the multiple charges she faced in court. At the time, Casey told police that the child had disappeared with a babysitter.

CASEY ANTHONY’S CASE
On December 11, 2008, almost six months after Caylee was last seen alive, a utility worker found skeletal remains that authorities later determined were Caylee’s.
Although prosecutors proved that Casey lied to the police about leaving the child with a babysitter, receiving a call from Caylee the day before she was reported missing, and more, they couldn’t find enough evidence to determine if she had killed her daughter.

The investigation also showed that duct tape was used to suffocate the toddler, but Casey’s DNA was not present on the piece of evidence, so she could not be linked to the murder.
Casey’s trial lasted a month and a half, and she was found not guilty of first-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter, and aggravated child abuse. Most people are not convinced, though, and they think that she killed her daughter.
The Florida Department of Children and Families believes the same and considers that Casey’s “actions or the lack of actions” were responsible for Caylee’s death.
Apart from that, former Circuit Judge Belvin Perry Jr., who presided her trial, said in 2017 that it was possible that Casey could have killed Caylee accidentally while using chloroform to calm her.
Casey was convicted of four counts of lying to police, but two were dropped, so she ended up serving three years behind bars while awaiting trial. Now, Casey Anthony is free, as she has been since July 2011.
Cindy said that she and Casey agreed it was better if they didn’t talk.

CASEY ANTHONY’S INTERVIEW
In 2017, Casey talked about her daughter’s death in an interview with AP that raised “more questions than answers” due to her sometimes revealing but often bizarre and contradictory responses.
Casey said that she didn’t know how Caylee died and that “everyone has” theories about it. She pointed out that nothing would have changed had she told the police everything she knew when questioned. She added:
“I’ve never tried to make myself a victim. I see why I was treated the way I was, even had I been completely truthful.”

CASEY ANTHONY TODAY
Now, Casey Anthony lives in South Florida at Patrick McKenna’s home, the private detective who led the investigation on her defense team and was also the lead investigator for OJ Simpson's murder trial. She works for him as a researcher.
In October 2018, she made headlines after it was reported that she was dating a man in his early 30s who worked a professional job and was willing to overlook her controversial past.
A month later, Casey was seen with a 38-year-old bar worker named Antony Karagiannis at a bar in West Palm Beach. He said that her past was none of his business, and he didn’t really care.
As per Casey’s parents, her father George admitted in 2019 that he was ready to forgive her and even wrote a letter seeking reconciliation. Her mother, Cindy, said that she and Casey agreed it was better if they didn’t talk.
In 2019, Casey said that she would work with first-time filmmakers on a racy film about her life that was supposed to be released in 2020, but the pandemic derailed the process. It is unclear if it will ever see the light of day.
Now, Casey Anthony is a registered agent of Case Research & Consulting Services, LLC, and wants to help “other wrongfully accused people,” especially women, get justice.
