Unsurprisingly, Forbes estimated that the 23-year-old athlete earned $37.4 million from tournament prizes and brand endorsement deals between May 2019 and May 2020.

With that, she broke the record for the highest earnings by a female athlete in a single year. Brand consultant Cindy Gallop explained why Osaka became a favorite celebrity endorser, telling the New York Times:

"She's a spectacular athlete. She has a strong sense of social justice, she's prepared to speak her mind."

Called "You Love Me," the campaign displayed poignant images celebrating Black joy. Melina Matsoukas directed the film while acclaimed singer Solange Knowles provided the score. Artist Tobe Nwigwe served as the narrator.

Additionally, Osaka starred in another meaningful ad for Levi's. She appeared in the denim brand's series "Beauty of Becoming" alongside inspiring celebrities, including Jaden and Willow Smith.
