Naomi Osaka Is Now the Face of Many Luxury Brands — Peek into Her Success beyond the Court

Naomi Osaka's success on the tennis court has spilled over into the world of brand endorsements. Take a look at her transition to becoming the face of many renowned brands.

From bikinis to shoes and headphones, tennis sensation Naomi Osaka has become a favorite product endorser. Besides this, Osaka is also an entrepreneur, recently unveiling her own skincare brand, Kinlò.

Her brand partnerships include making headphones with Beats, denim with Levi's, and athleisure with Nike. She also designed dresses with Japanese-American brand Adeam and launched a collection with Frankies Bikinis.

Unsurprisingly, Forbes estimated that the 23-year-old athlete earned $37.4 million from tournament prizes and brand endorsement deals between May 2019 and May 2020.

With that, she broke the record for the highest earnings by a female athlete in a single year. Brand consultant Cindy Gallop explained why Osaka became a favorite celebrity endorser, telling the New York Times:

"She's a spectacular athlete. She has a strong sense of social justice, she's prepared to speak her mind."

NikeCourt lead designer Carly Ellis described Osaka as a dynamic person with a powerful voice. The athlete recently teamed with Ellis to design her second capsule collection from the renowned athleisure brand.

Another powerful ad campaign Osaka took part in was with luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton.

Osaka, who signed with Nike in April 2019, co-created both an off-court line and an on-court clothes and sneakers. Together with Nike, the four-time Grand Slam singles champion also launched an academy for young women who aspires to become professional athletes.

Her cause-oriented attitude was also apparent in her ad campaign for Beats By Dr. Dre, which also featured rapper Lil Baby, professional race car driver Bubba Wallace, and activist Janaya Future Khan.

Called "You Love Me," the campaign displayed poignant images celebrating Black joy. Melina Matsoukas directed the film while acclaimed singer Solange Knowles provided the score. Artist Tobe Nwigwe served as the narrator.

Additionally, Osaka starred in another meaningful ad for Levi's. She appeared in the denim brand's series "Beauty of Becoming" alongside inspiring celebrities, including Jaden and Willow Smith.

Another powerful ad campaign Osaka took part in was with luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton. She was introduced as the brand's global ambassador during the launch of its spring 2021 campaign.

The ad campaign's creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière, regarded the Japanese-Haitian stunner as an exceptional woman and a role model with inspiring convictions and strong values.

Osaka shot to stardom in 2018 after defeating 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams at the US Open and becoming the first tennis player of Japanese descent to bag the title.

Besides her ascent to greatness and activism, the tennis superstar inspires her fans with her fitness journey and commitment to an active lifestyle. Osaka revealed that she does regular three-hour tennis practices as part of her fitness regimen.
