Ashley Biden has made headlines after sharing a pointed Instagram story just hours before filing for divorce from her husband of 13 years, Dr. Howard Krein.

On the morning of August 10, 2025, Biden posted an image to her Instagram story showing a man and a woman walking hand in hand. She captioned it, "My husband and his girlfriend holding hands ❤️."

According to multiple media outlets, including Sky News, Fox News, and the New York Post, the photo — taken from behind — showed a dark-haired man wearing a casual short-sleeved shirt and a blonde woman in a strapless black dress. Their identities were not immediately confirmed.

Biden also added the Notorious B.I.G. song "Another," featuring Lil' Kim, to the post. In the clip she selected, Kim raps, "What do you do when your man is untrue? Do you cut the sucker off and find someone new?"

The Instagram story was deleted soon after it was uploaded. Later that same day, Biden filed for divorce in a Philadelphia court from the 58-year-old plastic surgeon, marking the end of their marriage.

On Monday (August 11), Ashley Biden, the daughter of former President Joe Biden and former First Lady Jill Biden, submitted the paperwork in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. A representative for Biden confirmed the filing.

That same day, Biden posted an Instagram story of herself walking through a park and giving a thumbs up, with Beyoncé's song "Freedom" playing in the background.

She also shared a quotation on Instagram that read, "New life, new beginnings means new boundaries. New ways of being that won't look or sound like they did before," accompanied by Lauryn Hill's "Freedom Time." Both stories have since been deleted.

Dr. Krein is an otolaryngologist and plastic surgeon at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals. Divorce complaints in Philadelphia are not public records.

Biden and Krein tied the knot in June 2012 in Greenville, Delaware, after Krein proposed during a sunset on a cliff in Big Sur, California, according to People magazine.
