Daily Riddle: Identify 2 Words in Each Group That Do Not Belong

Riddles effectively test one's intellectual prowess, exercise the mind, and flex one's cognitive ability. Find out two words that do not belong in each group in this #riddleoftheday!

The key to solving riddles is to realize that some of the words are being used surprisingly or unexpectedly.

Section One: Find out what the animals are!

Guess the animals after interpreting the phrases below. For example, To run away or escape means to "FLEA." Get it now?

Try answering the ones below.

Very exposed

A lamenting cry

A precious or loved one

These make up a chain

Hair control foam

Not being truthful

A dull person

You get this after getting a parking ticket.

Section Two: Find the odd ones.

In this teaser, find out the odd ones in the groups of words. However, there's a catch! Each group of words has TWO words that do not belong. Try finding them.

EXAMPLE: Lily - Jane - Tulip - Rose

Jane does not belong as she's the only one who is not a flower. Tulip also does not belong because it's the only one that is not a girl's name. Get it now? Solve the rest.

Dodge- Ford- Lincoln- Hoover

King- Earl- Knight- Bishop

Yellow- Green- Dead- Black

Answers:

Hoover does not belong as it's the only one that is not a car manufacturer. Dodge does not belong as it's the only one that is not the last name of a USA president.

Bishop does not belong as it's the only one which is not a class of nobility. Earl does not belong as it's the only one that is not a chess piece.

 Dead does not belong as it's the only one that is not a color. Green does not belong as it's the only one which is not the name of a sea.

Section Three: Make a phrase 

Inside each set of the following words, there are a pair of smaller ones. By putting "&" between them, a familiar phrase will be formed.

For example, "Thighbone/Swallowtail" contains "High & Low."

2. Thermometer/Apoplexy

3. Delaware/Bordering

4. Surprised/Trashiness

5. Throughout/Stumblebum
