People Filmed Chatting While Baby Flails beside Their Table on Mall Floor: TikTok Users Debate

Two people thought to be a young couple were filmed eating and chatting in a public food court while a kid likely to be their infant laid on the cold hard floor. TikTok users had divided reactions in the comments section.

Anyone can be a parent, but that doesn’t mean everyone deserves to be one or can live up to being an excellent guardian to their child.

A recent social media video went viral after capturing two young parents talking and eating in a food court while their infant played on the cold hard floor.

A passerby took the short clip at the mall and was in disbelief seeing how the parents neglected their child on the floor. As the young couple sat, dined, and talked, they seemed to ignore the baby flailing at their feet.

Although the child’s age was unknown, it appeared that the baby could not walk yet and only had a green toy clenched by the fist. The TikToker taking the video could be heard saying:

“Are they for real for real or for fake?”

The parents also did not seem to have a stroller for their little one. Such sight spoke volumes about their capability to enter parenthood.

Initially posted on Snapchat, the footage spread on different social media platforms until winding up on TikTok and sparked a heated debate in the comments section.

Many called out the couple for their terrible parenting style and child neglect as they left the baby by their feet. One TikTok user wrote:

“I was 17 when I had my first baby and even I knew better. That’s neglect 100%.”

Some users were more concerned about the child’s health and safety as the floor is full of bacteria. The little one may also hit his head accidentally somewhere.

Meanwhile, some defended the parents, claiming that it was normal to leave a baby on the floor and it was nobody else’s business to mind. One user wrote:

“You shouldn’t talk on something you don’t know. Sometimes this is all that will calm a child down.”
