Inside Simon Cowell, His Fiancée & Son's $24m Home That Sits on 1.63 Acres Overlooking the Ocean
Simon Cowell has spent years in the entertainment industry, building a career and making a name for himself. He finds happiness in purchasing beautiful properties and spending time with his family with his fame and fortune.
Known as the stern and blunt judge on televised talent competitions, Simon Cowell has built a name for himself and made a fortune doing so. Despite his success, Simon's most prized possession is his only son, Eric, and soon-to-be wife, Lauren Silverman.
The couple had been together for nearly two decades but only recently upgraded their relationship status to engaged. Nevertheless, they have already lived together in Simon's luxurious Malibu mansion.

SIMON AND LAUREN'S ENGAGEMENT
Simon proposed to Lauren on Christmas Eve in 2021 while on a beach trip in Barbados. The celebration was extra special with the presence of their child and Lauren's son, Adam. According to a source:
"They are both super happy. They've been together for a long time now and adore each other, so it's not a huge surprise to their close friends."
However, another source claimed that the engagement might be the last effort to save their relationship. The insider noted that Simon refused marriage when Lauren spoke of it. "Perhaps she made it clear that she was not going to stick around unless they got married," the source said, as told by Page Six.
Further, the insider added that there was already misery in the relationship, which reached a point of exhaustion. Lauren has reportedly been waiting for a marriage to no avail. However, some sources claimed that Simon proposed shortly after their son was born.
Meanwhile, Simon's colleague believes that the engagement is, in a big way, for Eric. "Everything he does not is about Eric and his legacy," the colleague said. "He wants to give Eric legitimacy."
Regardless of the reason, Simon has previously made it clear that he is not a fan of marriage because he likes his own space and reportedly, to protect his $500 million fortune, much of which he spends on real estate.

Unaware of his wife's affair, Andrew upgraded Lauren's engagement ring at that time. However, Lauren got pregnant in 2013 and could no longer keep their relationship hidden. The revelation turned into a scandal that eventually led Andrew to file for an at-fault divorce, citing adultery as the main reason.
Stipulated in the divorce settlement that lasted until January 2015, Simon was required to stay away from Lauren's son with Andrew or face a $50,000 penalty. Their divorce was finalized in November of that year.

JOURNEY INTO FATHERHOOD
After her divorce, Simon and Lauren continued their relationship, and they welcomed their son, Eric, on February 14, 2014. Speaking to journalists after Eric's birth, Cowell revealed that fatherhood had softened him.
He admitted that his son's birth was probably the best incentive he needed to keep everything running as well as possible over the next few years. However, his journey into fatherhood was not always easy. During the first eight or nine months, he thought the child did not like him very much.

As it turned out, the two are alike in many ways and have been inseparable. Watching Eric grow is the most amazing feeling, and he could not imagine a life without the little boy. Eric was also the inspiration behind his impressive weight loss because his son's healthy eating habits influenced him.
According to Simon, his child is already showing interest in working on his dad's popular talent shows. In addition, the father-son-duo also plans to write a children's book titled "Wishfits," which will center on a world with unique animals.
Although Eric is more than enough, Simon previously revealed that having more children was still on the table. The "X-Factor" star also said that he was not proud that The affair between him and Lauren overshadowed Eric's birth.
