Simon Cowell has spent years in the entertainment industry, building a career and making a name for himself. He finds happiness in purchasing beautiful properties and spending time with his family with his fame and fortune.

Known as the stern and blunt judge on televised talent competitions, Simon Cowell has built a name for himself and made a fortune doing so. Despite his success, Simon's most prized possession remains to be his only son, Eric, and soon-to-be wife, Lauren Silverman.

The couple had been together for nearly two decades but only recently upgraded their relationship status to engaged. Nevertheless, they have already lived together in Simon's luxurious Malibu mansion.

Simon proposed to Lauren on Christmas Eve in 2021 while on a beach trip in Barbados. The celebration was extra special with the presence of their child and Lauren's son, Adam. According to a source:

"They are both super happy. They've been together for a long time now and adore each other, so it's not a huge surprise to their close friends."

However, another source claimed that the engagement might be the last effort to save their relationship. The insider noted that Simon refused marriage when Lauren spoke of it. "Perhaps she made it clear that she was not going to stick around unless they got married," the source said, as told by Page Six.

Further, the insider added that there was already misery in the relationship, which reached a point of exhaustion. Lauren has reportedly been waiting for a marriage to no avail. However, some sources claimed that Simon proposed shortly after their son was born.

Meanwhile, Simon's colleague believes that the engagement is, in a big way, for Eric. "Everything he does not is about Eric and his legacy," the colleague said. "He wants to give Eric legitimacy."

Regardless of the reason, Simon has previously made it clear that he is not a fan of marriage because he likes his own space and reportedly, to protect his $500 million fortune, much of which he spends on real estate.

One of Simon's properties sits on 1.63 acres of Malibu land and has a scenic ocean view. The gated tree-lined mansion is located on the luxurious Pacific Coast Highway and costs a whopping sum of $24 million.

The property boasts of six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a spa room, and a massage room. It also has amenities such as a plunge, a hot tub, and a barbeque area with a koi pond directly off the house, fitted with ceiling-high glass windows.

The home, built in 1988, is fully decorated with neutral colors and stone floors. Most rooms have dark wood floors, high ceilings, Venetian plaster walls, and large skylights. It also has five fireplaces, of which two are in the master bedroom.

The mansion also overlooks the Pacific ocean, and it also has staff quarters and even a guest house along its entrance.

The revelation turned into a scandal that eventually led Andrew to file for an at-fault divorce, citing adultery as the main reason.

Simon's Malibu is only one of the many properties he owns. The music producer also has other multi-million dollar mansions around the world. He has properties in the UK, where he sometimes stays due to television commitments, with a different theme.

His other mansions in America are located in New York City and Los Angeles, where his bachelor pad sits. Simon also has a home in Barbados, where he goes on vacation.

Simon's many homes have more than enough space to house Silvernamn and Eric and live comfortably amidst the pandemic.

Simon first met Lauren in 2004 at the Sandy Lane resort in Barbados. At that time, she was still married to real estate mogul Andrew Silverman. Although the "America's Got Talent" judge and Andrew were friends, he already had his eyes on Lauren.

Since she was married, Simon continued to see other women, including makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy and journalist Terri Seymour. When his relationships with the women did not work, Simon went back to Lauren, and soon they began dating in secret.

Unaware of his wife's affair, Andrew upgraded Lauren's engagement ring at that time. However, Lauren got pregnant in 2013 and could no longer keep their relationship hidden. The revelation turned into a scandal that eventually led Andrew to file for an at-fault divorce, citing adultery as the main reason.

Stipulated in the divorce settlement that lasted until January 2015, Simon was required to stay away from Lauren's son with Andrew or face a $50,000 penalty. Their divorce was finalized in November of that year.

After her divorce, Simon and Lauren continued their relationship, and they welcomed their son, Eric, on February 14, 2014. Speaking to journalists after Eric's birth, Cowell revealed that fatherhood had softened him.

He admitted that his son's birth was probably the best incentive he needed to keep everything running as well as possible over the next few years. However, his journey into fatherhood was not always easy. During the first eight or nine months, he thought the child did not like him very much.

As it turned out, the two are alike in many ways and have been inseparable. Watching Eric grow is the most amazing feeling, and he could not imagine a life without the little boy. Eric was also the inspiration behind his impressive weight loss because his son's healthy eating habits influenced him.

According to Simon, his child is already showing interest in working on his dad's popular talent shows. In addition, the father-son-duo also plans to write a children's book titled "Wishfits," which will center on a world with unique animals.

Although Eric is more than enough, Simon previously revealed that having more children was still on the table. The "X-Factor" star also said that he was not proud that The affair between him and Lauren overshadowed Eric's birth.
