Who Is Shanae Ankney? 'Bachelor' Clayton Echard Was Slammed for Choosing Her over Elizabeth Corrigan

Before becoming "The Bachelor"'s new villain, Shanae Ankney described herself as a lovable and patient small-town girl with a huge personality. However, her costar Elizabeth Corrigan would disagree.

Since the dating and relationship reality television "The Bachelor" returned for its 26th season featuring the 28-year-old Clayton Echard, the drama has been unending, especially between Ankey and Corrigan.

Just a few weeks after Ankney mocked Corrigan over her mental health disorder, the two are in the spotlight again, after Ankney called Corrigan "toxic," "fake," and a "bully."

THE SHRIMP INCIDENT

Ankney says the reason she thinks Corrigan is a bully is because of a recent "shrimp incident." Ankney claims that she made shrimp and asked Corrigan if she wanted some. Ankney then thought to ask the rest of the contestants, who were relaxing in a tub, if they wanted some.

When she walked up to the girls and asked them if they wanted to share some shrimp, Ankney says they all ignored her, a behavior she blames on Corrigan.

Ankney accuses Corrigan of being part of the group that ignored her, but Corrigan defended herself, saying she was not in the tub when Ankney offered the shrimp.

Fast forward to the cocktail party. Echard offered roses to Lyndsey, Hunter, Genevieve, Serene, Jill, Susie, Sierra, Mara, Rachel Teddi, and Marlena. He also surprisingly offered Ankney a rose.

Kira, Melina, and Elizabeth did not get any roses, meaning they were going home. Echard's decision to send Corrigan home and retain Ankney after her "shrimp" tantrum had fans reeling with disappointment.

CHOOSING ANKNEY OVER CORRIGAN

Fans have bashed Echard, saying the move to keep Ankney was "dumb and delusional." And while some fans regard Ankney with indifference and sometimes scorn, others are curious to know more about her life outside "The Bachelor."

The 28-year-old is from Sycamore, Ohio, and works there as the Director of Recruiting at OPOC.us. She also previously held the position of a Relationship Analyst at the same company in 2017.

According to her LinkedIn account, she also has experience in administrative assistance with a neurosurgeon at The Ohio State University. And while she does not promote her beautician work, she is a licensed cosmetologist. She writes:

"I enjoy any opportunities to grow my professional skills and make a difference in the lives of the people I work with."

Another little-known fact about the contestant is that she loves Christmas; so much that she keeps her tree up all year round. Hollywood Life reports that her love for the holidays is more faith-based and less about the decorations and lights.

Faith is also an essential aspect of Ankney's life, evident from a baptism photo she shared in 2021. "Such a special day for me. One of the best days of my life." She wrote as Hollywood Life reports.

Away from her career, Ankney is interested in finding a confident man who has no time to play games. While she values and optimizes her independence, her ideal man should encourage her to reach the goals she has for herself.
