Couple Kicks Their Biological Son out of Home 4 Years after They Adopted 2 Kids from Shelter
When a couple adopted two children, it seemed like they had the perfect family. Four years later, something strange happened that made them kick their biological son out of the house.
After the father wrote a detailed Reddit post explaining what had happened, other users slammed him and thought he was hiding something.
It wasn't easy to believe his side of the story because everyone in the family except him was siding with his son. Other Redditors felt something about the story was not correct.

When the couple's son James turned 14, they decided to adopt a girl and a boy. Before proceeding with the adoption, they asked James and their family if they had any reservations.
James said he was okay with it, and their family also didn't object to the adoption. James happily welcomed Tina and Gabriel, who were much younger than him.
As a precautionary measure, the couple took all three of their children for family therapy. They felt it was essential to build a connection between them.

Everything seemed perfect until four years later when James started acting strange around his siblings. The couple noticed he was mean to Tina and Gabriel.
Eventually, OP lost his temper and asked his son to leave and not return until he learned to respect them.
Concerned for their children's well-being, they asked James if there was something he wanted to discuss with them, but the boy said everything was fine.

A few weeks later, James left for college after securing admission to a reputed school with his grandparents' funding. The couple didn't think about his unusual behavior after he left, oblivious to what he was thinking.
But when James came home during his third-year holidays, the Original Poster (James' father) witnessed him berating his younger siblings, treating them like his unpaid servants.
The man got angry and asked James to explain why he was mistreating his siblings, and he ridiculed them further, saying he was tired of pretending to be their brother. He also criticized his mother for being infertile and not being able to produce his biological siblings.

Eventually, OP lost his temper and asked his son to leave and not return until he learned to respect them.
"I don't need a family if it's someone like you!" James yelled and stomped out of the house with his bag. He was sure he never wanted to see his family again.
On the other hand, his parents started getting worried because he didn't respond to their calls or messages. Later, he told them not to contact him and bad-mouthed his siblings some more.
After James left, OP noticed his family had become distant from him. His parents would often invite him and his family for Thanksgiving dinner every year, but they didn't do it this time.

When they learned about James leaving their house, they sympathized with him but didn't blame OP and his wife for it. They had a neutral stance about it.
However, OP noticed a decrease in their affection towards Tina and Gabriel when they visited them a few weeks later. They were unusually distant with them.
A few months later, Tina came crying to her parents, telling them that James had sent offensive messages to her. They were furious when they read it because it had disturbed her mental peace, wasting the years of therapy she had undergone.

When James graduated, the couple only saw his pictures and saw how happy he was with his grandparents standing by his side. They wanted to be there with him on his big day, but they could only look at his smile from afar.
James got financial support from his maternal and paternal grandparents, but Tina and Gabriel got none. Moreover, the couple's neighbors had also stopped talking to them because they blamed them for kicking their son out unfairly.
"I think we are on the verge of moving and going NC with the rest of our family," the man stated. James' absence had started affecting the couple's mental well-being, but they couldn't do anything about it.

While everyone in the family sided with James, the couple began to doubt their actions and wondered if it was their fault that their son was away from them. The man turned to Reddit for advice.
Redditor Aromatic-Ice-968 thought the story was strange and felt the man had omitted some crucial details or James was a manipulative mastermind who had played with his parents' sentiments.
"I feel like we're missing a whole lot of information if everyone is siding with your son," Redditor JustNoThrowsAway stated. The user believed the man was at fault because everyone else around him thought he mistreated his son.

"It's strange for someone to blow up out of nowhere with no provocation," Redditor D3thklok1985 wrote. The user wondered why the rest of the family sided with James and thought OP must have provoked him to cut ties with him and his wife.
"Take some time to reflect and see your possible wrongdoing in this situation rather than blaming your son," the user advised.
Most Redditors thought the man was hiding something because it seemed surreal that everyone except the couple was on James' side.

Questions to Ponder:
Do you think the couple was worried for their son out of guilt?
The man and his wife were worried for their son after he cut ties with them. Some people might think their guilt made them contact James because they knew they had mistreated him. However, others might think they were genuinely concerned for him because he was their child. What do you think?
Do you think the man is hiding something?
Most Redditors felt the man gave out incomplete information about what had happened in their home that led to James leaving. They felt there must be a reason why most people were siding with James and not him and his wife. Do you agree with the Redditors? Was the man hiding something?
