Jamie Lee Curtis Reveals Plastic Surgeries Made Her Feel Worse & That the Changes Were 'Humiliating'
Being born into a famous family was not enough for Jamie Lee Curtis, who put in the extra effort to make a name for herself. While she did excellently with her career, she confessed that she regrets making some life-changing decisions, including going under the knife to change her looks.
At 63, Jamie Lee Curtis is one of the most celebrated actresses in the game with several awards, including two Golden Globes, a British Academy Award, and being a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The "Halloween" star became acquainted with the life of a celebrity from a young age, as her parents were two famous individuals: Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh.

As expected, Jamie did not stray from her roots, and in no time, she began life in the spotlight after consolidating her acting career, as well as producing and directing.
However, like with every celebrity, her life was under scrutiny, with the media consistently reporting her every move, which made it easier for her to be judged. Many interpreted her to be the "perfect Jamie," considering her physique, but the actress believed it was all a fraud deep down.
Blurting out in honesty, the "True Lies" star revealed that she did not want women her age to think that she had a remarkable life with everything in place, particularly a flawless figure.

But all these would not have been possible if she never aided it. According to the Hollywood celebrity, she had "actively participated in and profited from" it. She added:
"There's a reality to the way I look without my clothes on."
In hindsight, the actress believed that she would never have altered her body shape through surgeries if she had enough confidence. However, sadly, the insecurities and shame began following the remark from a cameraman about her appearance.

The road to continuous surgeries began after a cameraman complained about her puffy eyes. Jamie explained that she's always had puffy eyes even as a child.
However, when it was time to shoot her for the scene, the man refused, sighting her eyes. This made the actress feel bad, and after the movie, she vowed to change her longtime appearance. According to her:
"I was so mortified and so embarrassed and had just so much shame about it."

But this was merely the beginning. What happened next was Jamie opting for a lipo and botox. But, of course, having botox was not a big deal, especially for women in Hollywood who aim to look as youthful as ever despite their advancement in age.
The procedure is a popular procedure that involves injecting certain chemicals into the bloodstream, particularly the face, causing the muscles to relax, leading the eye bags or wrinkles on the forehead to vanish.

Over the years, the producer has been open to sharing her story and using her experience to teach others, showing that she has now advanced to a higher level of confidence.
Less than a year ago, the "Halloween" star had a heart-to-heart discussion with "Lorraine" on Youtube, where she advocated for natural beauty above cosmetic surgeries.

Jamie maintained that she would pick natural beauty over and over because she has experienced both sides of the coin. According to her:
"I did plastic surgery. It didn't work. I hated it. It made me feel worse."

Not only did she try to change her body or face, but the actress also tampered with her hair. Jamie confessed that she dyed her hair and did everything to get better hair.
But instead, she felt humiliated going through the process of sitting under the dryer and applying nauseating chemicals to her hair.
Eventually, all the trials made her feel and look worse. Finally, the actress confidently mentioned that perfection after surgery is merely an illusion, and it never lasts or even works.

Ultimately, she decided that it was not worth it and decided to quit. For many years, she has advocated for women to look their best at any age, adding that it is impossible and illogical to look like a young woman at an old age.
The "True Lies" star did not mince words when she talked about the word "anti-aging," explaining that every human will get old and eventually die, which is inevitable.
These days, she is all about embracing her gray hair color and would want to look seventy when she is seventy. Jamis is not trying too hard to look like a teenager and faking a beauty standard that would affect one's confidence and well-being in the end.

That's not all; the actress is also not concerned about the wrinkles on her forehead. In her opinion, it was earned the hard way, and she had no problem displaying it. Jamie is also particular about being the change she preaches. According to the actress:
"I'm trying hard to take the veil off the fraud, to be real, to start with me."

For Jamie, preserving natural beauty has everything to do with one's mindset. Although she has embraced keeping her natural appearance, she is conscious of her routines so as not to fall prey to doubts.
One of such routines includes never waking up to stare at her face in the mirror. Even though she is aware that with age comes changes, Jamie never makes herself stare into those changes. In her words:
"I am not going to look the same as I used to, and I don't want to be confronted by that every day!"

Jamie also advises women to resist the temptation of always picking and poking at their imperfections in the mirror, adding that "women are extraordinary."
Amid all the sensitization, the 63-year-old knows that being a Hollywood celebrity comes with its fair share of struggles, especially for women to maintain their glow and ravishing beauty.
However, she condemns the beauty standard because it robs them of their natural beauty, which can never be returned once tampered with.
