On May 26, 2022, "It's Complicated" star Alec Baldwin shared on Instagram that his mother, Carol M. Baldwin, passed away in Syracuse, New York. She was 92.

Alec explained that his mom dedicated most of her life to raising her six children. After surviving breast cancer in 1991, Carol helped others through a breast cancer support group on Long Island.

Alec was not the only one posting about Carol. Hilaria Baldwin, Alec's wife, posted a photo on Instagram showing Alec sitting by a fire. She wrote that Carol would continue living in her family's hearts.

Speaking of Alec Baldwin's wife, she is a yoga instructor who met the "Saturday Night Live" alum in February 2011 at a New York City restaurant. They started dating shortly after their first meeting but didn't rush it.

Five months later, they started living together, and in April 2012, they got engaged. They tied the knot at the Basilica of St. Patrick's Old Cathedral, New York, on June 30, 2012.

It was Hilaria's first marriage and Alec's second – he married Kim Basinger in 1993 and divorced her in 2002 after a long and headline-grabbing legal battle. The former couple eventually made amends.

Like his late mother, Alec has a large family. He shares Ireland Baldwin, the fashion model and animal rights advocate born in October 1995, with Basinger.

With Hilaria, Alec has six children: daughters Carmen and María Lucía, and sons Rafael, Leonardo, Romeo, and Eduardo. In late March 2022, the married couple announced Hilaria was pregnant with their seventh kid.

Hilaria revealed she and Alec were sure their family was already complete, but their surprise pregnancy made them "beyond happy." It is essential to point out that she suffered a miscarriage and a pregnancy loss in 2019.

People have asked Alec why he and his wife keep having children, and the "Mission: Impossible" star pointed out that being a parent was the "ultimate journey."

Having so many sources of love has probably helped Alec go through recent tragedies. Apart from losing his mother, he accidentally shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of "Rust" in New Mexico in October 2021.

The Santa Fe Country Sheriff's Department revealed Alec shot what he believed to be a non-lethal prop gun while filming one of the scenes. Unfortunately, it was a live round.

"Rust" producer Anjul Nigam said that what happened on set was a horrific tragedy. Still, many people involved in the film want to honor Hutchins by completing her final work. Nigam pointed out that it was not an actual plan but an optimistic wish.

Hutchins' husband filed a wrongful death complaint, and authorities are still investigating the case. Rest in peace, Halyna Hutchins and Carol Baldwin.
