Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey recently stated that continuing "The Office" past season 9 would have been "wrong." According to them, producer Greg Daniels informed the cast that NBC had offered to renew the series for two more seasons.

But with many contracts already expiring, there was concern about what the show would become without many of the original cast members. Also, long-time writers Mindy Kaling, Jen Celotta, Gene Stupnitsky, Lee Eisenberg, and B.J. Novak had already left for other endeavors.

Ryan and Carrell leave fans swooning with their loved-up characters in "The Office." Ryan's character Holly Fax fell in love and eventually tied the knot with Steve Carrell's character Michael Scott.

Five years after the comedy show ended, Carell and Ryan played husband and wife again, but this time on the big screen. They co-starred in the 2018 film "Beautiful Boy," playing David and Vicki Sheff, the parents of Nic Sheff, who struggles with drug addiction.
