Boy Dresses as Batman to Make Neighbor Stop Throwing Garbage on His Granny’s Yard & Succeeds – Story of the Day

A young boy decided to take matters into his own hands after finding out that people would throw trash in his grandmother's yard, affecting her flower garden. Fond of superheroes, he dressed up as Batman and warned people to stop throwing trash into the yard or else he would take action.

Jimmy would spend every summer with his grandmother, Elizabeth, as he loved her dearly. On one particular summer vacation, he noticed his granny constantly looking out the window, upset.

"What's wrong, granny?" he asked her. "I noticed you've been upset looking out the window every afternoon."

His granny sighed. "My neighbors throw garbage into the yard every single day. It's ruining my flower garden," she replied, almost in tears.

"Why don't you reprimand them about it? That's not right. They shouldn't be disrespecting somebody else's property like that!" Jimmy argued.

Granny Elizabeth shook her head and revealed she was afraid to confront her neighbors, as they always looked angry. "They're a tough bunch; I can tell by how they act," she told her grandson sadly.

Knowing how much the situation affected his grandmother, Jimmy decided to take action. "Don't worry, grandma! I'm going to put on my Batman suit and scare them. They're never going to throw trash on your garden again," he said, hugging her.

The sad grandmother couldn't help but smile at Jimmy's innocence. She wished everything was that simple. "If only everybody thought like a 9-year-old, the world would be a much better place," she thought.

The following day, the boy got dressed in his Batman suit and waited by the window for someone to approach the garbage bins outside. After a couple of minutes, he saw a muscular man approach the bins and ran toward him immediately.

"You!" he yelled. "Are you the scoundrel that throws garbage in my grandmother's yard? I mean... this old woman's yard? I'm Batman, so she is not my grandmother. Batman has no grandmother," he said, trying his best to impersonate the masked superhero.

The man looked at Jimmy curiously. "On the contrary, I collect garbage from people's bins. I am a garbage collector. What's wrong, Batman? Is someone bothering the old lady who lives in this house?" he asked, playing along with Jimmy.

Jimmy nodded his head. "Yes! This woman needed Batman's help, so I came over. The people next door throw trash into her yard every day, and it's ruining her flower garden," he replied, pointing to the direction of their neighbors.

The garbage collector looked over at the neighbors' house and decided he wanted to help Jimmy in his mission. "The city needs you, Batman! Thank you for coming over to help this poor old lady," he said using Batman's motto, delighting Jimmy.

"That's no way to treat the elderly. I understand you, dark knight! Let me help you," the garbage collector added seriously, playing along with Jimmy's act. Then he walked toward the neighbors' house and poured trash from several bins into their yard.

Upon hearing the noise of all the garbage crashing in their yard, a woman opened the door and was shocked to see the garbage collector. "What do you think you're doing?!" she asked angrily.

"This is a message from Batman. He's warning you never to throw rubbish into the old woman's yard again. Have we made everything clear?" he said, pointing to Jimmy, who was standing behind the fence with a menacing look. His arms were folded in front of him, just like Batman.

The woman's anger suddenly turned to embarrassment. He looked into the old woman's yard and saw the young boy dressed as Batman. She couldn't help but feel bad about what she and her husband had been doing, ashamed that it took a kid to reprimand them about their irresponsibility.

Granny Elizabeth's neighbors apologized to her after the garbage collector left. They promised never to disrespect her property again and said they would be good neighbors moving forward.

Since that day, no one ever threw garbage in Granny Elizabeth's yard again. Her flowers bloomed beautifully, and all of her neighbors admired the garden she worked hard on. Jimmy and the garbage collector became good friends, and they would spend a couple of minutes talking each time he made rounds on the street.

Granny Elizabeth was able to spend more time with Jimmy as well, as she was no longer worried about her yard. This allowed her to play with Jimmy, cook him delicious homemade meals, and teach him about gardening, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
