Eddie Izzard on Finding Romance as a Transgender Woman
British actress, stand-up comedian, and activist Eddie Izzard, who announced in 2020 that girl mode was taking over, has revealed that she has had difficulty finding romance as a transgender woman.
In December 2020, Eddie Izzard said she was adopting the "she" and "her" pronouns as she has decided to live as a girl. Immediately after she made the announcement, there was a media fuss, and she could not understand why.
The actress had spent 35 years making sure she made the change at the right moment. When she was finally ready, it happened by chance while she was a guest on the series "Portrait Artist Of the Year."

The program host asked Izzard what pronouns she preferred, and the comedian said she would use the "she" and "her" pronouns. It was not a big deal for the actress, so she forgot about the conversation.
When they broadcast the program, she was shocked that she had become news headlines. She was making the news more than when she first announced she was trans in 2017, and her life changed within hours.

Izzard later stated that she had not intended to be so definitive about it. Since she had been in boy mode more than girl mode, she now wanted girl mode to take center stage.
However, she had hoped to keep her options open and occasionally wanted to experience the freedom to be he, but she quickly discovered that the choice was not on the table.

Eddie Izzard about Finding Romance as a Trans Woman
In September 2022, Izzard admitted that she is having difficulty finding love as a transgender woman. In an interview at an event in London, she said:
"I would like to start dating, but it's complicated with me being a trans woman. It's going to have to be a very confident and strong-minded woman who has a relationship with me."

The "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" actress once had a long-term relationship with the Emmy-nominated Irish composer, producer, singer, director, and screenwriter Sarah Townsend, professionally known as Sarah McGuinness.
Izzard had met her in 1989 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where she was running the venue. In 2009, she directed the comedian's documentary "Believe: The Eddie Izzard Story," which got an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Nonfiction Special.

Facts about Eddie
The television personality was born Edward John Izzard in the Colony of Aden, Yemen, to English parents on February 7, 1962, and became famous for being a stand-up comedian.
"I went through such hell since 1985."
Her mother was a nurse and midwife, while her father was an accountant who worked for British Petroleum (BP). At four, the comedian already knew things were different about her.
She claimed to have known she was transgender at that age after she saw her sister force a boy to wear a dress. At six, Izzard lost her mother to cancer, and the following year, she knew acting was a career path she wanted to follow.
Izzard attended several boarding schools before venturing into entertainment, where she started as a street performer. Two years later, she had won her first significant comedy award and was already having solo performances in the West End.
It was not until 1991 that she had her big breakthrough when she appeared at an AIDS fundraiser in London. As her stand-up career became a huge success, she started appearing on the big screen in movies and series.
She has starred in "Revengers Tragedy," "The Avengers," "Ocean's Twelve," "The Good Wife," "My Super Ex-Girlfriend," "Ocean's Thirteen," and "Valkyrie." She has also voiced roles in "The Wild," "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian," and "Cars 2."
Izzard has always spoken about her desire to become a Labour Party politician. In 2015, she campaigned for the Labour Party in the general elections, but people mocked her online during a Brexit debate in 2016.
However, she is not giving up and is always ready to go even if they give her only a 24 hours notice. Besides her Labour Party plans, the actress, who sees herself as a radical and a moderate, would also like to run for Mayor of London.
Izzard Seesaw between Girl Mode and Boy Mode
Unlike many transgender people who suffer from body dysmorphia, believing they were born into the wrong sex, the actress has been able to switch between her girl and boy modes.
Eddie Izzard's ability to be gender fluid has made some people dismiss her as an attention seeker. However, the actress insists that this is false. In January 2021, she said:
"I went through such hell since 1985 that the idea that I've come out recently just sounds ridiculous."
Izzard's hell included the constant self-analysis, trying to walk through her mental passageways, but her brain not letting her do it. When she finally came out, she had to deal with the abuse people had hurled at her.
The actress had to deal with panic attacks on most days and several times a day. These panic attacks worsened in the summer, especially when she started sweating. She would suffer panic attacks from knowing she was sweating, leading her to sweat more.
The panic attacks continued for years; as of 2021, she revealed that they had stopped only a few years before. Izzard also had to deal with people laughing in her face.
These people would stand close to her, eventually turning her into an "it." She said their actions infuriated her, and she wanted to fight everyone who was saying mean things to her and about her.
