Katie made history in 2002 by being the world's highest-paid TV personality, and in 2006, she became the first woman to solo anchor "CBS Evening News."
She left CBS in 2011 as she wanted to focus on more multi-dimensional storytelling. Today she is the founder of Katie Couric Media and an author who has written over three books.
The broadcast journalist, who has been very open about her life with her followers, revealed in June 2022 that the doctor told her she had cancer on her eighth wedding anniversary after a tissue biopsy from her breast.
Shocked, Katie could only think about her late husband's colon cancer diagnosis at 41, her late sister's pancreatic cancer, and her deceased mother-in-law's ovarian cancer.
She also thought about her mother's mantle cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, her father's prostate cancer, and her current husband's cancer scare.

After losing the father of her children, the TV personality had a few relationships that never went past the dating phase despite the years they spent together.
In 2012, after being single again, she was ready to date and asked her friend, whose husband is a surgeon, to get her a doctor boyfriend because she thought she wanted to date a doctor.
Her friend revealed they didn't know any doctor, but they knew a banker. After being persistent, John finally called up Katie Couric for a date, and she revealed that she instantly fell in love with him.
On their first date, the excited journalist was glad the financier had called her, and they met at a restaurant. Katie said:
"John is so funny. He's just got this incredibly dry and wry sense of humor, and he doesn't take himself too seriously. And he's just fun to be around."
The following year, he took her to the beach, where he proposed. Katie said it took her a long time to say yes because she was confused and her brain was not processing what was happening.
Ten months after their engagement, Katie and John tied the knot in the Hamptons on June 21, 2014. The wedding took place at her home, where she looked stunning in a Carmen Marc Valvo ivory, crystal beaded, and embroidered Chantilly lace high neck halter gown.
She revealed the reasons she wrote the book.
The ceremony officiated by their friend, John Ellis, was an intimate one with their close friends and family members, including both their kids.

What Illness Did John Molner Suffer?
In an interview with Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa in October 2021, as Katie talked about her book "Going There," she revealed the reasons she wrote the book.
The broadcast journalist had lost her first husband to colorectal cancer in 1998. Despite her fight to raise awareness for colorectal cancer, she wanted a book that her children and families of cancer survivors could relate to, hence her memoir.
Losing her first husband was not the last time cancer hit her family, as her current husband, John, started showing symptoms that made her ask him to visit the hospital.
John's doctors informed him that they had discovered a tumor the size of coconut on his liver, and she began to feel like the Black Widow.
The cancer scare was an emotional and terrifying period for her. When John told her the news, she said:
"I thought, 'Are you kidding, God?' This can't be happening again. I felt like the Black Widow—I was going to be on the front of the tabloid with a spider with my big face on it. Luckily, he's fine and did well."
Katie was grateful the doctors caught it on time and took the necessary actions to save his life. John was also thankful and hoped people appreciated him more now, knowing they could have lost him.
Even though it was also a scary time for him, he is also grateful his wife is good in crisis mode. However, he was sorry he had to be sick enough that he needed care and now tries to lead his life with gratitude.
