Many people find the love of their life in high school or college, but Scotty McCreery and his wife met much earlier on in life. In fact, neither of the pair was even out of kindergarten when they first saw one another.

The couple has been together for many years and even started a family. The country singer and his wife celebrated their new son's birth through McCreery's music video for his latest single, "It Matters to Her."

In the video, his wife, Gabi, can be seen throughout her pregnancy and reaching milestones with her husband. There were many photos and videos shown that had never been seen before.

By the end of the video, McCreery and Gabi can be seen assembling their son's room, and the last frames show the couple smiling wide as they hold their newborn son in their arms for the first time.

McCreery talked about what the music video meant to him and said, "To me, the video shows off how much of a rock star Gabi was during her pregnancy." He also said he was excited for the world to know he had a son.

The music video showed the couple's pregnancy journey, but they took to Instagram to announce their son's birth too. They posted a simple photo of the three of them and mentioned that they were welcoming their son, Avery, home.

What Does McCreery Think of Fatherhood?

Before Avery was born, McCreery talked about how he felt about becoming a father. He admitted that although his album "Damn Strait" was doing brilliantly, his mind was not on the success of his music career.

Instead, he confessed that all he could think about was the birth of his son. He said when he had to leave his wife and dog to go on tour for his music, it was difficult, but it was even more difficult when she was pregnant.

McCreery mentioned that he was excited by both his music career soaring and expanding his family and joked:

"I don't think I've stopped smiling all year!"

He then said he would spend the first few months of his son's life snuggling with him. The rest of the time, he would figure out how to balance being his son's best friend and his father simultaneously.

Gabi Makes McCreery Take Out the Trash: Inside Their Love

While McCreery enjoys fame worldwide, at home, he is just known as Gabi's husband, and she ensures that he stays humble, no matter how successful he may become. She does so by making him carry out household chores.

He said his wife is his biggest fan but doesn't let fame go to his head. He shared some details about their life, saying:

"I get home, and she's like, 'Just go take out the trash and do the laundry.'"

Although Gabi and McCreery have known one another since kindergarten, they only began dating in senior and got married before moving in together. McCreery expressed that he was having fun building a home with Gabi.

The couple, who got married in 2018, have often shared their story of how they know one another, and McCreery said that Gabi's kindergarten notebook had their names drawn into hearts.
