Todd and Julie were
in Atlanta. Todd was handed down 12 years in federal prison while his wife, Julie, was sentenced to seven years. Their report date has been set for January 15, 2023.
Before they were handed their sentences, the couple talked about their feelings about the case on a podcast. They shared that they couldn't say much about the incident but wanted fans to know they were heartbroken.
What Will Happen To Todd and Julie's Granddaughter, Chloe?
Todd and Julie have been acting as their granddaughter, Chloe's foster parents, because their son and Chloe's mother cannot take care of her effectively. Fans are now wondering what will happen to the young girl.
The couple has full custody of the granddaughter, and Julie's lawyer requested that the couple be allowed to stagger their sentences so that there is someone around to take care of Chloe while the other is in prison.
This request has been made so that until one party is out of prison or until Chloe turns eighteen, there is always someone there to supervise her. However, it is still being determined whether or not this request has been agreed upon.
Many fans of the family have shared their thoughts on Todd and Julie going to prison, saying:
"Chrisleys going to jail, and I feel sorry for Chloe the most."
Many fans have said that they are sending prayers to the family. One fan said that Chris Chrisley loved Chloe like she was his only child, and she hoped that her aunt and uncle would take care of her if her grandparents weren't able to stagger their sentences.
Why Do Todd and Julie Have Custody of Chloe Instead of Her Dad?
Chloe has been in Julie and Todd's custody since she was six months old when custody was granted to them because of her father, Kyle's issues with substance abuse, which left him unable to care for her.
Todd and Julie said they made a "conscious decision" that she was their child and family member and would take care of her and give her everything she needed. Chloe is now ten years old.
Chloe is a mixed-race child, and the family has run into many racist people who have said that Kyle should not have had a child with a woman of a different race. However, Todd and Julie have always been quick to shut those comments down, saying they are praying for the person.
Todd and Julie have often talked about how much they love their granddaughter and what she means to them. Taking to Instagram, Todd said:
"The sweetest gift from God … This child is our blessing."
He also revealed that the young girl calls him "papa" or "dad" and calls Julie either "Mimi" or "mama." He also said the girl's child psychologist told them not to correct her and instead to let her find her own way of referring to them.
