Woman Finds out Her Husband Visits Older Lady Every Day Instead of Going to Work — Daily Drama

Melanie and James had an ideal marriage, but things fell apart after their first four years. James started working late every other night, and Melanie was fed up. After following him after work one day, she would learn the truth.

Melanie and James had been married for five years and seemed to be the ideal couple at the onset of their relationship. Their first three years were paradise; however, the last two years saw them experience a crisis in their marriage.

James worked as a doctor, while Melanie worked as a PR consultant. They had always been rather ambitious in their respective fields of work, but they promised each other it would never get in the way of the family they were building together.

In the last couple of years, it seemed James was falling behind on his promise to his wife. He started coming home late from work and would almost always go straight to sleep upon returning.

This weighed heavily on Melanie and started to negatively impact her self-image. Melanie feared her husband wasn't attracted to her anymore, so she decided that maybe she had to make more of an effort on her part.

"I promise, my love. I'll be there at 8 p.m. sharp," James promised, kissing his wife goodbye and leaving for work.

Later on, Melanie was getting ready for work. She was psyched to have a night out with James, which they used to do regularly earlier in their relationship. James called just as she was doing her make-up, and she answered in elation.

"Hi, my love. I was just thinking about you and how amazing tonight is going to be. I've already confirmed our reservations," a thrilled Melanie explained.

"Yeah... That's why I called. I'm so sorry, my love. Something came up at work, and I won't be able to make it," James said dejectedly.

"No, James. You can't do this to me. You promised," a heartbroken Melanie said, tears streaming down her face."I know, my love. I'm so sorry! Please, allow me to make it up to you. If I could get out of this work engagement, I would. I know—" James explained.

Melanie instantly dropped the call. She was heartbroken and annoyed. She had nothing further to say to him at that moment. The man she married was a man of his word, but lately, James wasn't acting like that man.

"You're lying! You're a liar, James! I married a liar!"

That very night James came back to find Melanie waiting for him. She was clearly mad, and James didn't blame her.

"Hey, love. I just wanted to—" James started before being interrupted by a furious Melanie.

"I don't want to hear any more of your apologies, James. Just tell me, who is she?" Melanie asked with a fierce look.

"Who is who, Melanie? You're not making sense," James said, confused.

"Oh, don't give me that! There is obviously another woman in the picture. Who is she?" Melanie asked, agitated.

"Look, Melanie, I'm sorry I missed the dinner. But, there is no other woman. As I explained earlier, something came up at work. Please, just trust me. Have I ever given you reason not to?" James retorted.

"You're lying! You're a liar, James! I married a liar!" Melanie barked.

"Alright, that's it! I'm not doing this with you today. It's been a long day, and I'm exhausted. I'll sleep on the couch," James snapped, exiting the room and leaving a fuming Melanie in tears.

A few weeks passed, and things were even worse between Melanie and James. They were barely talking, and Melanie was convinced that James was cheating on her. So, she decided she would take matters into her own hands.

James called Melanie one day, telling her he would be home late again. Melanie agreed and acted like everything was okay.

A few minutes later, she called James's office only to find out that he had already left.

After this incident, Melanie was sure James was cheating.

The next day she returned from work early and headed to James's office. She patiently waited outside only to see James exit at his normal knock-off time. She then followed James to an old age home. Completely confused at this point, she decided to call him.

"Hi. Should I wait for you, or are you still busy at work?" Melanie asked coldly.

"Hi, my love. I was actually just about to call you. Things are a bit crazy here at the office. I'll be a bit late again. Sorry," James said as he walked into the old age home.

Melanie was baffled. Had he been lying the whole time? she thought. What Melanie was seeing seemed to only confirm her suspicions. But she decided to give him another chance and further investigate.

The next day she returned to the old age home and saw James's car again outside. She looked through one of the windows and saw James dancing with an elderly woman. Again, she called him, and he said he was working late. At this point, Melanie concluded that she was, without a doubt, getting cheated on.

That very night Melanie confronted James. She didn't waste time with pleasantries and plainly told him all she had seen.

"My love, I'm so sorry! It's really not as it seems," James said.

"Okay, then tell me how it really is, James. Because I honestly don't have the strength to fight with you. I just want the truth," Melanie said, defeated.

"Okay, this is the truth. The lady you saw me with is one of my cancer patients. I've recently been trying to incorporate creative arts therapy in my treatments. Recent studies have shown that creative arts therapy like dancing actually helps in cancer relief. So, every night I go to the old home and try to do what I can to help. And it's really been helping, Melanie," James confessed.

"That's your explanation? Wow! You really don't value what we have, James. And it breaks my heart," Melanie said before leaving.

The next few days were difficult for James. As much as he tried to explain his situation, Melanie simply wouldn't believe him. This all changed when the case of James's cancer patient and the extra hours he had been putting in came to James's boss's attention.

James earned a bonus, and the whole department threw him a party. James managed to convince Melanie to come to the party, and she finally learned that her husband was, in fact, telling the truth.

Melanie was ashamed of her actions and apologized to James wholeheartedly. James forgave her, realizing his fault for neglecting his wife and explaining that he did not come forth with the truth because of fear that she wouldn't believe him.

They finally went for their romantic dinner the next day, and things gradually became better between the two since then.
