Leslie Jones is a seasoned comedian born in Memphis, Tennessee, on September 7, 1967. She started her journey with comedy as a college student in 1987 when she competed in a "Funniest Person on Campus" contest and won. Jones abandoned college to chase her dreams in LA, where she sustained herself by working at Roscoe's Chicken and UPS.

Comedy legend Chris Rock spread the word about the comedian and created awareness about her talent amongst managers in Hollywood. He eventually got her onto the cast of "SNL," where she formed a comedic chemistry with Kate McKinnon, which many confused for romance.

Leslie Jones keeps her love life private, so much so that fans began to assume that she might be into women as there are no signs of a man in her life. However, the "SNL" alum opposed those claims when she was featured on the TBS talk show, "Conan."

Conan O'Brien mentioned that her "SNL" co-star, Kate Mckinnon said she'd do well as a gay woman. Jones responded by saying that if she were gay, she would be crushing. She said she would have many girlfriends and be dubbed the worst lesbian ever.

An interjector suggested that that might make her the best lesbian ever. She agreed by joking that if she were gay, she would be involved with many beautiful women, as she is sure about her convincing flirtatious abilities.

Leslie Jones' Close Chemistry with Co-Stars Sparked Wedding Rumors

Jones worked with Kate McKinnon at "SNL" for four years until Jones' departure in 2019, developing a close relationship within that time. They became so close that they were rumored to be married, which turned out to be false. McKinnon described the nature of their relationship:

"Leslie and I have worked together for two years at SNL. We were very close by the time we got there to film and got so much closer, pathologically closer, over the course of the summer, in fact."

McKinnon added that they went from working at "SNL" to working there while being on the set of movies together daily. Their potent combination in comedy has been a coveted part of "SNL's" DNA from 2014 till 2019. McKinnon, who left the show in 2022, explained that she always wanted to be in it and left due to exhaustion.

On another occasion, fans were linking the comedian to be in a relationship with co-star Kyle Mooney. The rumors spurred based on their convincing showing in the "Leslie & Kyle" sketch, where they simulate a relationship for gags. However, an edition of this skit hit screens in May 2019, and fans speculated it was more than a sketch.

Mooney ridiculed fans convinced it was real, then continued flirting with Jones before performing a musical sketch together. It was almost as if they played into the idea that they were in a relationship.

Leslie Jones Is Still Single & Says She Has Terrible Luck with Men

Jones was on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" with her comedic counterparts and co-stars, Mellisa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and McKinnon, from the 2016 film, "Ghost Busters: Answer the Call," a reboot of the 1984 classic comedy "Ghostbusters." On the show, Jones divulged that she is on the search for a boyfriend.

She adds that she devised a list of things that the man of her dreams would be made of—a method she picked up from Wiig, who successfully got into a relationship that way. Jones reads through some of the qualities in the four-page list she carries around at all times. She read that he has a nice smile, clean teeth, and a "circumcised and functioning" phallus.

On the TBS talk show "Connan," Jones falsely admits that she has a partner before describing her type, "I will tell you the type of dude that I like. I like a dude that makes me laugh, and it's not hard to make me laugh - it really isn't - because I like the goofiest things. I love goofy men!"

It is clear that the strong bond developed between Jones and her colleagues, with the help of some comedy sketches, has been an illusion to many fans who believe that she's gay. However, the "Ghostbusters" star cleared these rumors.

She mentioned that she has a partner on the "Conan" show but later tweeted that it is false and she has "terrible luck" in that regard. The comedian has gained a solid reputation and will showcase her talents in the upcoming sports drama "I Am Maurice" alongside Chris Rock and Wil Sylvince.
