Mom Loses Home She Toiled For All Her Life, Son Works Day & Night To Gift Her Keys To Dream House on Mother's Day

A mother worked hard seven days a week to give her kids the best. She battled cancer and fell on hard financial times, but her strength never wavered. Her youngest son valued everything she did and planned a big surprise to repay her.

Michael Luangrath's mom is his hero. For Mother's Day in 2013, he did something spectacular for the number one woman in his life. The gesture required lots of hard work, planning, and commitment.

The young man saw how his mother struggled for his sake, and he finally managed to show her how much she meant to him. No sacrifice was too big for the loving son, and his generous actions will melt your heart.

His Mother's Battle with Cancer

Daovanh Luangrath raised her kids right and was proud of the people they became. As a single mother, she had to work doubly hard to provide for them, and she took great pride in her job. However, she was forced to stop working in 2002 after she was diagnosed with cancer.

Michael watched his mom become a shadow of the woman she once was and feared for the worst. He couldn't imagine life without her and did his best to stay positive.

While many kids planned to purchase their first home for themselves, Michael was different. The first home he bought would be for his mother.

She Fell on Hard Times

The young man quit his schooling and job to devote all his time and resources to supporting his mom. Miraculously, she won her fight against cancer, and her family celebrated.

Michael went to college and studied hard to make a name for himself, but back home in Las Vegas, his mother struggled to keep up with her payments.

The son recalled a life-changing incident during that time—it encouraged him to do something significant. He said:

"We parked in front of a place that I wasn't familiar with. I told my mom [that] I thought we were going home, and she said this is home now. I remember that day vividly. That was the day I decided to buy my mom a house. I didn't know how I was [going to] do it but my mind was made up."

Losing Their Home

Daovanh was forced to sell her home due to the recession but still longed to have her dream house. It didn't need to be a fancy place, and all the hardworking mother wanted was a simple residence where she could spend quality time with her family.

Her downsized home was not ideal, and her son teared up when he saw it. He shared:

"I wouldn't even call it a place where she lives. I would say it's a place she stays the night so she can begin another day of work."

He Wanted to Make Her Dreams Come True

Michael spent his days working hard and saving as much as possible to make his mom's dreams come true. He noted: "She's the reason I worked so hard."

While many kids planned to purchase their first home for themselves, Michael was different. The first home he bought would be for his mother. She went through life without complaining, and even though she faced many challenges, she was happy.

Daovanh's passion and love inspired Michael, and he eventually managedf to give her the most significant gift he would ever give.

The Big Reveal of Her New Dream Home

Michael gave up so much and signed his life away on a home mortgage for his mom. He handed over the keys on Mother's Day, and it was an unforgettable moment. His mom hugged him as he cried and expressed:

"You worked so hard all the time. I knew that when I got some money I was going to buy you good things. I see you work hard every day ... I bought you a house."

The mother walked through her new home and was at a loss for words. She couldn't thank her son enough, and the smile on their faces displayed their genuine joy.
