Jose Stemkens Was Titus Welliver's 4th Wife and He Filed for Legal Separation

Jose Stemkens became Titus Welliver's wife in the spring of 2014. The couple had kept a stable of horses and vintage rides during their seven-year marriage.

Fashion consultant Jose Stemkens has lived and worked on three different continents. She was the stepmother to Titus Welliver's children from a previous relationship and adopted his youngest child, whose mother had passed.

The European fashionista lives in Los Angeles, where she runs two businesses. Here's what we know about the woman who spent her youth in Holland.

On Their Wedding Day, Titus Said They Were "Blessed"

On April 12, 2014, Stemkens exchanged vows with the widower at Saddle Peak Lodge in Calabasas, California. Welliver was ecstatic to share the news of getting married again after the death of his wife two years earlier.

He tweeted romantic black and white photos from the day of them embracing and another where they cut the cake, also proclaiming:

"A most glorious and magical day! We are blessed! My beautiful wife!!"

The "Bosch" star's representation added that they had a "lovely, loving, beautiful, amazing, magical evening," with entertainment by funk rock band Trash Honey and designer floral arrangements from The Exotic Green. The bride wore a white Herve Leger gown.

Welliver's teenagers, Eamonn and Quinn, and his youngest daughter, Cora, including Stemkens's mother, brother, and sister from Holland, counted amongst the guests at the reception. There were no reports of the actor's famous friends like George Gerdes or Annie Wersching attending the big day.

Josepha Theodora Stemkens is of Dutch and African heritage, born in Tembisa, South Africa, on December 29. There are contradictory reports about her year of birth.

Stemkens grew up in Holland, where she got an early start in fashion retail at a department store. From her entry-level position, she received multiple promotions until she managed the store.

At 21, she took a role in Düsseldorf, Germany as a fashion wholesaler that held the licensing rights for Disney apparel and related products. She worked at the company for five years, during which time she relocated to Hong Kong, where they had a factory to set up an office.

While in Hong Kong, she was hired by top Esprit executives Heinz Krogner and Michael Ying to be the senior project manager of the band. In this capacity, she worked in Hong Kong, again in Düsseldorf, Los Angeles, and New York between 1995 and 2005.

She was the international account manager for The Great China Wall (TGCW), a high-end streetwear label, for almost three years before being appointed the president of a Dutch clothing company in mid-2009.

The consultant kept their 2017 Range Rover and six horses named Kimba, Kid, Chief, Aslan, Jackson, and Little Martha Grace.

Her mandate in the new role was to establish the Dutch-based labels JC RAGS and Dept in the American market. She left the company to become the Vice President of the House of Quirky. Over eight months, she helped set up their LA headquarters until she started her ventures in 2014.

Titus Filed for Legal Separation from Jose. It Was His 3rd Divorce

Stemkens adopted Cora, her husband's daughter, who was eight years old when they married, indicating the deep bond the couple once shared. On May 14, 2019, Welliver filed for a legal separation from his wife at the LA County Superior Court.

The "Transformers: Age of Extinction" actor had been thrice married and twice divorced before. In 2012 producer Elizabeth W. Alexander, his wife of seven years and mother of Cora, lost her battle with breast cancer.

The "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. " actor was married to Heather Wielandt in the '80s. He and his second wife, "The Nanny Diaries" actress Joanna Heimbold had two children, Eamonn and Quinn, during their union between 1998 and 2004.

They Finalized Their Divorce 7 Years after the Wedding

Just under two years after their separation, the divorce was finalized in 2021. According to the divorce settlement, Welliver got sole custody of his daughter, Cora, then 14. Stemkens had to attend counseling with her adopted daughter.

The star of "Argo" was ordered to make a monthly alimony payment to his ex of $27k for the remainder of 2021 in addition to a lump payment of $50k. The consultant kept their 2017 Range Rover and six horses named Kimba, Kid, Chief‚ Aslan, Jackson, and Little Martha Grace.

She left the marriage with her businesses, bank accounts, furniture, and jewelry she had owned before. Her ex rode away with a 2014 Harley Davidson and a Mini Cooper, property in Connecticut, and his residuals from his acting work.

Jose's Life Post-Divorce

Stemkens is still the owner and president of Sunrise Fashion Consulting, which she founded in February 2014, and a specialized boutique.

The consultancy based in Los Angeles is a one-stop-shop for fashion brands hoping to break into the US market, providing services like legal advice, trend forecasting, and PR. The company is responsible for establishing brands like Lui Jo, Freddy, Superfine, and Cocurata.

The fashionista used her years of experience setting up other brands in the States to open her own boutique Eywasouls Malibu, in 2018. The luxury clothing store specializes in bohemian maxi dresses touted to fit all shapes.

With Stemkens' fashion undertaking based in Malibu, it is safe to assume that she still resides in the area following her divorce. It is unknown if she is still in Cora's life, who is a teenager now. Welliver splits his time between Los Angeles and his property in Litchfield County.
