SZA's Weight Significantly Influenced Her Fashion Choices

Since rising to fame, SZA has been open about her body image and weight fluctuations. In 2018, she disclosed her preference for dressing in baggy clothing, a style choice influenced by her previous weight. Back then, SZA gained weight, reaching 200 pounds. She said:

"I was a lot bigger, so wearing baggy clothes [was] not so much as a '90s thing; it was what was comfortable and what fit."

After a successful weight loss journey, SZA changed her fashion choices and mindset. She no longer needed to rely on baggy clothing as she had in the past. Having worked diligently to achieve her desired body shape, she embraced the freedom to wear clothes she liked.

SZA Takes Care of Herself in Her Own Ways

Like all other women, SZA has insecurities but has learned to love herself through the years. She once hinted at having a Brazilian butt lift and claimed that seeking a professional's help was her choice alone.

Of her features, SZA treats her backside with the most care, as it is her favorite accentuating accessory. "It's just there to enhance whatever else," she said. "That's why I paid for it because it works all by itself."

SZA is also a mental health advocate and has been working towards protecting her peace. For the entertainer, maintaining a deep connection with nature and finding solace in outdoor activities is therapeutic.

She emphasizes a holistic approach to caring for her well-being and tries to lead an active lifestyle, whether taking a stroll in the park or hiking the forest.

While meditation plays a role in clearing SZA's headspace, she finds her balance by being outdoors amidst trees and nature's embrace. Her drive to be surrounded by greenery makes her travel long distances, overcoming any challenges that may arise.

SZA was raised Muslim and grew up following her religion's teachings. Unfortunately, she became subject to Islamophobia for wearing a Hijab after the 9/11 attacks happened. Being singled out for wearing a Hijab in school was undoubtedly a traumatizing experience, but she remains firm in her faith.

She has discussed her religion multiple times and revealed how Islam influenced her music and perspective. Because of her faith, she learned to care less about others' opinions and love herself more.
