Ringwald said she was bullied, cajoled, manipulated, and punished, which forced her to exit the Hollywood scene.

When the actress was 13, a 50-year-old crew member promised to teach her how to dance, but instead, he pushed Ringwald against an erection.

At 14, Ringwald underwent another terrible experience when a married film director put his tongue in her mouth on set. She recalled:

"At a time when I was trying to figure out what it meant to become a sexually viable young woman, at every turn some older guy tried to help speed up the process."

The harassment, assault, and bullying got worse in her 20s. Ringwald remembered that she was asked by her director, in a kind of rhetorical manner, to let a lead actor put a "dog collar" around her neck. This part wasn't in the script the actress studied.

Ringwald said this act was so degrading that she doesn't remember if the collar made it to her neck, as this was the closest she came to having an out-of-body experience.

The actress only remembered crying in the parking lot afterward, and when she got home, she told her agent what took place, and he just laughed.

Ringwald fired her agent after this incident and moved to Paris. She put her career on the back burner due to the assault, harassment, and humiliation that came with it. The actress said she only came back to the US occasionally for work.

Adele's fraternal brother Roman was born three minutes after his sister. Roman was in breech, which made the delivery harder as Ringwald had already been in labor for 11 hours. Roman was eventually delivered in breech position.

Ringwald and her husband recently celebrated their twins' 14th birthday. The actress shared a series of photos showing her son and daughter in different stages of their lives. In one picture, the two were just newborns and were wrapped in white blankets.
