Woman Disrupts Ex’s Mother’s Funeral by Telling His Wife and Kids She’s Pregnant with His Baby
A woman who forged a meaningful bond with her ex-boyfriend's mother attended the older woman's funeral only to be asked to leave by her ex's wife. Yet the situation became more complicated after the woman spoke to her ex's children.
Nine months ago, a woman took to Reddit to ask advice from fellow users on whether or not she was in the wrong for attending the funeral and talking to her ex's children, who knew her well.
The woman clarified that she and her ex's mother had become extremely close while they were dating, and when they broke up, she still thought of the older woman as a mother to her, so she decided to attend the funeral and pay her respects.

The woman and her ex dated when he had separated from his wife. After she and her ex broke up, he and his wife decided to give their marriage another try. The woman said she was "devastated" when she heard her ex's mother had died and attended the funeral but sat in the back. She did not want to draw too much attention to herself and her growing belly.
When she decided to pay her respects to the woman who had been like a mother to her, she had no idea how it would turn out. She did not think she needed an invitation to attend the funeral, but later found out she did.
How Did the Situation Turn Out?
Even though the woman sat in the back, her ex's wife spotted and approached her to let her know that she was "not invited" to the funeral and was "crashing" the event. The woman was confused by this statement.

Fortunately for her, her ex's older brother came to her defense, saying she was welcome but caused a scene when he put his arm around her and moved her up front with the family, behind her ex, his wife, and their children.
The funeral had an open casket, and as people looked at the body, the woman's ex's children noticed she was sitting near them and that her belly had grown significantly since the last time they had seen her.
As the children hugged her, they asked her whether or not she was pregnant, to which their mother replied:
"Yes, darlings, she just can't stop making them."

This comment further shocked the woman as she had only one other child. However, instead of saying how she felt, she kept her thoughts to herself and continued chatting with the children, who asked if the baby would have red hair like the woman.
She replied that while her baby could have her red hair, their father's hair was brown, which meant that the baby might have hair just like them as it was to be their little sibling. When she clarified that she was carrying the children's sibling, their mother called them to stand with her.
As soon as the funeral service was complete, the woman left but later received a call from her ex saying that she was wrong for telling the children about the baby without first speaking to him and his wife.

Her ex then asked that the woman and her baby, who her ex knew about long before the funeral, stay away from him and his family. This left the woman wondering if she was really in the wrong.
People Questioned the Woman’s Intentions
While she sought advice, many people trolled the woman for having an affair with a married man. However, the woman was prepared and clarified:
"There was no affair. They separated. We dated. They decided to get back together. We broke up."

Even when she added this crucial information, many users doubted her intentions for attending her ex's mother's funeral. They wondered whether or not she was bitter that her ex had left her to get back together with his wife.
Some said that while she had every right to go to the funeral and pay her respects, she didn't have to involve his children in the drama and should have side-stepped their questions about the baby. Others felt that if the children's mother was okay with including them in the drama, the woman could, too.
