Man Dumps Wife & Her 5 Kids He Raised for 9 Years after Finding Out They Deceived Him for Years
Although imperfect in many ways, one man thought he had a loving family. This was only to later discover that they had been deceiving him for years, leaving him ready to cut them off for life.
A Redditor going by Electrical_Claim_69 took to the platform to ask his fellow netizens if he was in the wrong. According to him, he helped raise his ex-wife's five kids, who aren't his biological children, for almost a decade.
He stated that he treated them like he was their actual father, especially since their biological paternal figures were not present in their lives.

Acting like a Family
At one point, they were trying to figure things out between them, post-split. At the time, he was working in a different state but would still make an effort. As he wrote:
"I worked out of state and would talk to her and the kids regularly like a husband and father would and would spend my days off with them all."

He was also taking care of them financially. However, he wrote in the post, "If I had found out what they were doing I would have stopped paying all the bills."
The Man of the Household or Many Men in the Household?
While working away and trying to figure things out with his ex-wife, the man alleged that she would see other men and bring them home. However, that was mild compared to what she and the kids did. According to the Redditor:
"Well, the lying came into play when I found out on accident that the dad of 3 of the kids had gotten out of jail and was spending time with my wife and kids behind my back because no one wanted me to find out because he told them not to tell me."

Moreover, the man discovered that the children had been helping their mom hide any evidence of any man she had been seeing. Hurt by their deception, the man ultimately decided to cut his ex-wife and her children off for good.
The Online Debates Begin
There were many opinions from Redditors and Facebook users where his story had been shared. Many of the Redditors were on his side completely, with one individual expressing:
"NTA at all. You were a stand-up guy to them and they treated you poorly, end of story. Good luck to you."

A significant number on Reddit and Facebook agreed with cutting the wife out but questioned his decision to cut the children out. They asked how young all the kids were, how much power they had in the situation, and how much they understood.
Some commenters dug into the original poster himself. They thought he made a terrible decision in the first place by dating and marrying a woman with five children with different men. One Facebook user commented:
"Anyone who thinks it's a good idea to date a person with 5 kids from multiple partners, especially when 2, 3 and 5's parent is in prison (so #4 is probably product of cheating), has set themselves for a disaster. Such person, regardless male or female, is not a stable person. What was he thinking?"
