Stacey Owen's wedding was coming up on November 30, 2019. Months before the ceremony, her maid of honor, Jackie Lewis, was scrolling through the internet when she came across someone interesting.

Convinced she was doing the right thing, Jackie decided to contact this individual. That being said, she was extremely nervous about the outcome of her actions.

An Unwelcomed Guest Gate Crashes the Wedding

On the wedding day, Stacey was innocently enjoying her wedding reception. She and the man she just married, Keri, were swaying on the glittering dance floor when the unexpected happened.

The music went silent as the bride looked on at this stranger who was gate-crashing her wedding. She remembered how horrified everyone was when this happened. She recalled:

"I just thought what is going on as we had just done our first dance...I just thought it was one of Keri's nutty exes."

She said her husband himself was terrified. However, the mood changed quickly when Stacey, Keri, and the guests realized who it was. The bride stated that when the lights came on, everything changed.

The Mood Begins to Change

Shortly after the mysterious bride stormed into the venue, she started to dramatically sing the song, "It Should Have Been Me" by Yvonne Fair. She approached the couple, playfully hitting the bride, the groom, and the guests with a bouquet as she sang.

Stacey said that it would remain in the attendees' minds for a long time to come...

She even lightly and harmlessly pushed the groom onto a table at one point and proceeded to drop onto her knees dramatically. At this point, the whole room was in hysterics, and the unnamed intruder received applause at the end. The now-married woman recalled:

"Everyone at the wedding was laughing, and they were hiding when she was whacking people with the flowers.

The Mystery Gate Crasher's Secret Identity Revealed

It turned out this gate-crashing bride was comedian January Rees who Jackie had convinced to prank the bride at her wedding. The maid of honor stated, "I managed to persuade Jan to take part, it could have gone drastically wrong. We were planning it for 4-5 months."January also revealed she wore her wedding dress which she retrieved from her atttic, and drove to the venue.

She and Jackie were nervous, and the only other individual in cahoots with the two was the DJ. Luckily for this maid of honor, she hit the nail on the head as the bride found it funny. Stacey said that it would remain in the attendees' minds for a long time to come and that everyone loved it.

A Social-Media Frenzy

Taking to Facebook in December 2019, Stacey shared a video of the hilarious incident, tagging both the comedian and her maid of honor in the post. There was a positive response to the post, with one individual penning:

While this wedding ended in laughter and applause, it isn't always the case for everyone, with some left heartbroken at the altar. Click this link about a groom fleeing the altar on his wedding day.
