Kids Break into Abandoned School, See Their Principal Hiding Something There Actively – Story of the Day
Toby and Kyle went to the abandoned school on a dare from their friends, only to discover their actual school principal coming inside. They saw him make a horrible phone call and meet a strange man. The boys had only one choice to make.
"Are you scared?" Kyle laughed at Toby as they arrived at the distorted gate of the local abandoned school. Decades ago, a terrible fire had overtaken the building, and several people died. Instead of fixing it, the city built another school for the district many blocks away.
There were no buyers for the burned school. No one was even interested in the land, and soon, the s about it being haunted began. By the time Kyle and Toby were born, everyone in their town knew about the supposed ghosts that could allegedly be seen at night.

The town's teenagers and kids would visit the school at night. It was also a big attraction on Halloween. But everyone entered at some point. Toby and Kyle's friends had talked about it during lunch that day, and eventually, they were dared to go in at midnight and stay for an hour.
"No!" Toby scoffed at Kyle, who took his camera out, placed it in night vision mode, and began recording. They were supposed to bring evidence of their dare to their friends, or none would believe them. "I think you're the one scared here."
"Nah, dude. I can do this with my eyes closed," Kyle said, but they both looked beyond the gate and swallowed thickly. They could lie to themselves, but the area was simply creepy. The plants had overgrown so much, and the fire had left the building in the worst shape imaginable.
Some walls were entirely black. Some areas didn't have a roof anymore. But they were recording now and couldn't back out, or their friends would laugh. So, Toby grabbed part of the crooked gate and fit himself into the small opening, with Kyle following close by.
"Well, I just hope my mom doesn't realize I'm gone," Kyle commented as they strolled through the concrete walkway. "She'll kill me."
"I can't even believe you got away," Toby nodded. Kyle's mother was known for being strict. Of course, Toby's parents wouldn't have let him come either, but he had sneaked out before and gotten caught, and nothing much happened.

Kyle couldn't go out with his friends to the movies without explaining all the details to his mother. She also insisted on driving and picking him up. They all tried to understand because they had known him forever. But other kids often made fun of him.
That was also a big reason why Kyle had accepted this dare. He needed to prove that he wasn't such a mama's boy, and Toby wouldn't let his best friend come to this place alone. Finally, they reached the doorway.
"It's closed," Toby said after trying to open it.
"What's the point of that?" Kyle said, rolling his eyes.
"I guess they don't want squatters or druggies getting in," Toby replied, shrugging. "Let's find another way."
They circled the school and finally discovered an open door to the old gym, which was in better shape than the rest of the property. "Should we just wait here?" Kyle wondered.
"I don't know if they want us to record other parts," Toby wondered.
But before they could decide, the lights of an oncoming car illuminated the gym, filtering through the broken windows. They looked at each other, wondering how a car would go when the gate was fully closed.

"Crap! It must be Mom! I can't believe this!" Kyle said, panicked.
"No!" Toby whispered-yelled. "I can see an SUV. It's not your mom's car! What do we do?"
"HIDE!" The boys ran and finally found a great hiding spot beneath the bleachers.
"Keep recording," Toby encouraged his friend as they waited to see who had come. Whoever it was killed the headlights, exited his car, and ran into the building.
"Is that Principal Anderson?" Kyle whispered, confused. He was the principal of their actual school, but there was no reason why an adult should come here.
Toby put his finger on his mouth, warning his friend, as they focused on the man. Principal Anderson took a package from his jacket and placed it in one of the holes in the wall, probably caused by the fire.
The pre-teens frowned, looking at each other briefly before turning their heads back. Then, their principal grabbed his phone.
"It's in the usual place," Principal Anderson said after a few seconds. His voice was low, but the building was so quiet that it was for the boys and the camera to hear the words. Whoever he spoke must have wanted more details. "It's exactly what you requested."

The man began to pace around the abandoned gym as his hand went to his forehead. He looked desperate and afraid. "No, wait. I can't do more. I've already installed cameras everywhere I can, and the bathrooms were tricky," he said, his voice shaking.
"Cameras?" Kyle said, confused.
"NO! I'm already recording the girls' bathroom. I can't place some in the boys' bathroom, too. Not right now. We have to be careful. The videos are all in the thumb drive, as usual," the principal continued speaking, getting more agitated by the second.
"I'm calling 911," Toby said, reaching for his phone and dialing quickly. He whispered quickly when the operator answered and begged them to send police soon while Principal Anderson was still on his phone.
When Toby hung up, he and Kyle waited. "You think he's selling videos of girls in our school in the…" Kyle swallowed, horrified.
Toby nodded. "If he's not, then he won't have a problem explaining anything to the police," he assured his friend, and they nodded, determined.
The strange, secret call between the principal and whoever he was talking to fortunately lasted a long time, more than enough for the cops to arrive. They saw Principal Anderson hiding his phone away and started to explain, or rather lie, why he was there.

That's when Toby and Kyle came out of hiding. The man who was supposed to lead the school and care for all students stared at them with shock, disgust, and...utter malice.
The pre-teens showed precisely what he was hiding, and they turned over their camera willingly so the few officers could see what they had recorded. Of course, they also had to explain why they were hiding, and the officers insisted on calling their parents.
But it didn't matter. An hour after they came in, the officers escorted Principal Anderson out. Kyle's mother threw a fit while Toby's parents shook their heads. However, a few days later, the news broke that the school principal had installed cameras in the girl's bathroom and locker room.
He was also selling the videos to… very bad people. Emotions ran high, and worried parents wanted a harsh punishment and more effort from the police.
Ex-principal Anderson was charged with several things, so they were sure he would spend a long time in jail. All the cameras inside the school bathrooms were located and promptly removed. The staff also implemented regular check-ups with a unique device to detect secret cameras.

Toby and Kyle became instant heroes in everyone's eyes. The awe wore off eventually, but at least no one ever gave Kyle any more grief over his helicopter mother. Toby was just happy that such a secret predator was in jail, and the experience changed his life, as he decided to study criminal law later.
He knew the world had many other Principal Andersons and would try to catch them all.
