Neighbor Woman Makes Teen Buy Her Baby Things as 'Punishment' for Waking Him Up - Parents Find Out

After a young girl lost her balance and fell on her apartment floor with a thud, her neighbor told her she needed to walk to the store and buy things with her own money as a punishment for the noise her fall caused.

A young girl living in an apartment block with thin walls and floors was hyperaware of her neighbor and her neighbor's baby. The girl and her family were careful not to make too much noise not to wake the baby.

However, one day, something entirely out of the girl's control caused much noise. She was soon reprimanded by her neighbor, who felt it was her duty to dole out a punishment.

The young girl explained the situation to her mother and stepfather. Still, she did not receive much opinion, so she turned to Reddit to find out if she was being unreasonable for not agreeing with her neighbor.

What Woke the Neighbor's Baby Up?

The young girl had begun taking new medication shortly before the incident, which made her prone to dizzy spells. She was also anemic and had not had her supplements for a week as she had not yet ordered a new supply.

Due to all of this, the young girl's balance was also weak. The day before she posted on Reddit, she had been sitting at a table when she dropped her water on the floor. She lost her balance and fell when she got up to clean the water.

The teen knew that her hard fall had caused noise in the apartment building and probably woke her neighbor's infant, but she was not expecting what came next from her neighbor and then her parents, who did not offer her comfort.

What Did the Neighor Say?

After acknowledging that her fall had made a huge sound throughout the apartment building, the teen said:

"About 15 minutes later, as I'm putting band-aids on my elbow and knee, I get a call from my downstairs neighbor."

The teen's neighbor yelled at her, asked what had caused the thud, and then told her that the noise had woken her baby from his nap. The teen quickly apologized and told her neighbor what happened, reassuring her that she would be more careful.

Despite the teen's apologies, her neighbor continued complaining, saying how furious she was and telling the teen that her baby's health was critical. She also told the teen she needed a break.

The girl then said: "She began yelling at me... She then tells me that she wants me to walk to the store... to use my own money." The girl was shocked because not only was she a minor, but it was also freezing and snowing.

The neighbor told the young girl she wanted her to do this and spend her money as "punishment" for waking her child up. The teen told her she was unprepared to do that, apologized once more, and then hung up the phone.

The teen then told her mother and stepfather how she had fallen and what had resulted from the fall. They agreed that the neighbor was out of line for thinking that she should buy her things.

Her parents then told the teen that she would need to be more careful next time and that she shouldn't have fallen so hard that she would make a noise. They also told her to be more cautious around water.

Although the teen tried to explain the situation to them, they were non-committal in their reply, shrugging their shoulders and choosing to handle the problem with the neighbor. The teen asked Reddit if she was wrong for refusing to buy her neighbor things, and she quickly received many comments reassuring her that she was not.
