Cheating is considered the ultimate betrayal in a relationship, and while some couples overcome it, it is a dealbreaker for some people. A few others have shared how they have avenged the heartbreak.

Reddit users disclosed their best revenge tactics involving cheating partners. While several told their own relationship stories, one person revealed how their parents' marriage ended.

One Original Poster (OP) divulged that dad divorced the mom after she cheated on him with a man she worked for as a nanny. In the divorce, the mom only received half of the husband's pension and primary custody of the kids.

OP divulged that the mom spent the next ten years lying about what transpired between her and the dad, telling the siblings that their father liked cheap things; hence, they argued a lot.

Despite it all, the dad remarried with an old flame from high school who owns a lucrative business, allowing the couple to lead comfortable lives. They purchased vast land in the countryside and started horse cattle, as the dad always wished to have. "Now he's happier than I've ever seen him," said OP. The mom is unaware that OP knows what happened between her and the dad.

Meanwhile, another Reddit user shared their own story on the platform. OP revealed that his wife abandoned him after he experienced a health issue "so she could enjoy her life." Thankfully, OP recovered, joined the gym and a whip dancing club, and maintained a social life by going out with friends while taking his grown kids out fishing on the weekends.

OP dated a few women and made lady friends who helped him raise his self-worth. He wed a "fantastic woman" 11 years later who makes his life worthwhile. The couple has been married for nearly three decades, and OP divulged that his beloved wife told him she owes his former spouse "a debt of gratitude for making me available."

As for the ex-wife, OP revealed she also remarried someone she met at a bar, and that person refused to work, leading her to support them both financially. "She's still unhappy with her life. So as far as I'm concerned, the best revenge is to forget they even exist and enjoy your life," OP wrote.

In another Reddit post, one user recounted his previous relationship from when he was in his twenties. He had a girlfriend that he deeply cared about, and he believed their relationship would last forever. OP described his lover as "beautiful, sweet, smart, independent," and she did not give him any reason to believe she wanted to be with anyone other than him.

Regardless, things went downhill when he caught her in bed with another man. Instead of responding angrily, he apologized for walking in on them and left immediately. Since that encounter, he cut her off by not responding to her texts or phone calls.

At first, she tried to explain herself through texts, but because of his constant silence, she attempted to make him feel guilty for cheating on him, only to retract and beg for a second chance again. OP said it was apparent his non-emotive reaction riled her up while adding that although the situation hurt him, he picked up the pieces and moved on. A year ago, he said he was happily married with two children.

One other Reddit user detailed that his then-girlfriend had emailed him saying that their relationship was not working out and that she had met the "unconditional love of her life."

This revelation left him devastated, and he dwelled on it for a while until he eventually moved on and forgot about her. Several years later, they crossed paths when she worked at a hotel as a receptionist, but he did not remember her.

She gave him an attitude, and he figured she must be having a bad day. He got his key and settled into his room. The next morning, while he was about to leave for work, he went to the lounge area, where the ex tapped him on his shoulder and challenged him.

He mentioned that he apologized to her if he did something to offend her and asked who she was. The ex told OP she was happy she married the man she had told him about instead of him.

That is when he recalled who she was. "She looked like she was very miserable in life, and that made me very, very, very happy," said OP, adding he was proud of himself for being able to move on so much that he even forgot what she looked like.

Meanwhile, another online user shared a story involving his relationship with his now ex-wife. While married, he moved away from his home and friends to where his former spouse could have horses.

After a year at the new place, OP found a well-paying job, but the disadvantage was that it was the night shift. As time passed, the wife became distant and did not want to be intimate with OP or spend time with him. He later found out when leaving for work that she was having an affair as the wife's lover came in for the night. OP divorced his spouse, and the boyfriend moved in.

According to OP, the couple later got involved in a car accident, and while the boyfriend got out scratch-free, the ex-wife was severely injured and was hospitalized for weeks. The boyfriend dumped the ex-wife and relocated to another state to avoid her lawsuit.

Another social media user revealed when she discovered that her partner was unfaithful, she took screenshots of everything and posted them on social media.

"It felt good. Everyone knew what he did and what he was, but he still made excuses and called me crazy. [...] I know what I did was petty, but I don't regret it," OP wrote.

One Reddit user shared a story of a married couple. OP was doing silver service at wedding venues and got a gig where a couple was renewing their vows.

Once the cake arrived, OP realized that it had a mountain-top snow scene with two figurines donned in ski gear embracing on the top of another figurine at the bottom. "You could see the bride study the cake and wonder. There was a noticeable change in her demeanor," OP revealed.

When it was time for speeches, the husband announced that he had found out that his wife had been sleeping with her ski instructor and that he would be filing for divorce. "It was incredible but pretty sick," said OP.
