Suri Cruise, 18, Flaunts Fit Abs & Legs during a Run in Central Park – Fans Say She's 'So Like Her Mum'
Suri Cruise recently flaunted her fit abs and legs during a workout before joining her mother, Katie Holmes, for dinner. Pictures of the 18-year-old that were shared online had fans pointing out the striking resemblance she shares with Katie. Suri's excursion comes after she made a surprising move concerning her name.
The 18-year-old daughter of Hollywood ex-couple Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise caused a commotion online with her recent outing. Suri Cruise was photographed going for a run in Central Park on Tuesday morning (June 4) where she donned athletic gear. Images of the teenager did not go unnoticed by the public, who marveled at how much Suri takes after Katie.
Appropriately dressed for her workout and the whopping 80-degree day, Suri rocked figure-hugging biker shorts, which showed off her toned legs. She paired her outfit with a white tank top that was folded and tucked into her sports bra, leaving her fit abs on display.
Completing the ensemble, Suri wore running shoes and headphones. She also held her phone in one hand as she jogged through the winding walkways. Many who saw pictures of the fit young lady took to online platforms to marvel at the resemblance she shares with her famous mother.
"She's so like her mum," commented an observer, while another added, "She [looks] like her mumma." One Facebook user who was particularly taken aback by the mother-daughter similarity expressed, "I honestly thought that was her mother." Someone else simply said, "She's all grown now."

Others took to the comment sections to shower the young beauty with compliments. "Looks beautiful and fit..nice one," praised a fan. Echoing the same sentiment, another admirer swooned, "She is beautiful."
A couple of hours after her run, the beautiful girl met up with her lookalike mom and grandmother, Kathleen A. Stothers-Holmes, for dinner at Sant Ambroeus restaurant in Soho. For the family affair, Suri traded in her athletic wear for a flowy white dress, a blue tote bag, and brown boots.
Matching her beloved daughter's energy, Katie also wore a dress, but hers was light yellow and made out of knitted fabric. She paired her outfit with black socks, black wedge sandals, tortoiseshell sunglasses, a gold necklace, and a black handbag and wrapped a black jacket around her waist.
The "Dawson's Creek" star, who held hands with her mom as they made their way to their venue, fashioned her dark locks into a neat side-braided ponytail.
Joining Katie Holmes and her family was Michael Fitzgerald, whom a media outlet deemed a close friend of the actress. According to the same outlet, Suri Cruise arrived and left separately from the group.
The teen joining her mom for dinner is only one of many instances in which the mother and daughter have been spotted spending time together.

In fact, Katie and her daughter have been seen on mother-daughter outings on numerous occasions, further emphasizing the close bond they share. This bond juxtaposes the relationship—or lack thereof—Suri shares with her estranged father, Tom.
According to reports, the teenager, who celebrated her birthday in April, has not had a relationship with her dad in years. Some outlets claim that close sources have even gone so far as to say that Tom Cruise is non-existent to Suri and that she only considers her mom to be her only parent.

There have been many speculations put forward that the dissolution of their relationship has also been a result of Tom's Scientology beliefs.
Since turning 18, Suri has been making big decisions in her life, some of which are directly linked to her father. One big change she decided to make in May was to drop her famous dad's last name.
This bold decision was revealed during her performance in the musical "Head Over Heels" in New York. In the production, she reportedly played Princess Philoclea, a character originated by Alexandra Socha in the Broadway adaptation.
In the high school play's casting sheet, she was credited as Suri Noelle. This name change reflects her choice to adopt her mother's middle name, Noelle. The "First Daughter" actress' full name is Kate Noelle Holmes.

Suri's name change is also a notable departure from the name listed on her original birth certificate. The document confirmed that she was born Suri Cruise, inheriting the surname of the "Mission Impossible" star.

Filed with the Los Angeles County Register-Recorder/County Clerk, the certificate itself has several peculiarities. Notably, Suri was born on April 18, 2006, yet the document wasn't filed until 20 days later, on May 8.

This delay was unusual as St. John's Hospital typically files birth certificates within ten days of the birth. According to the hospital, the lag occurred due to the absence of a parent or designated representative to sign the certificate. After the delay, the document was signed by a person described as a "friend."

However, the signature remains illegible. Another unusual occurrence is the act in itself, which was done by Anne Heffernan, RNC, aka the Attendant or Certifier. Anne was not present in the delivery room, nor did she see the baby, yet she signed.
However, hospital representatives clarified that although it is standard for the attending doctor to sign, it is not mandatory. Therefore, Anne was authorized to sign in the doctor's absence.

Now that Suri Noelle has turned 18, her legal adulthood grants her more than just the ability to change her name. It also empowers her to freely express her views about personal matters, including her relationship with her father and his Scientology beliefs.
On the matter, Tony Ortega, who has researched Scientology for decades, shared, "Suri would have been too young to sign any agreement, but she will now be free to talk if she wants to, and it's going to be really interesting if she has something to say."
