'There Will Never Be a Part 2': Final Post of Influencer Hannah Moody, Who Died in Arizona, Shakes Followers

Hannah Moody, a faith-driven social media influencer known for her inspirational hiking reels, was found dead on May 22 after being reported missing during a solo trek in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her unexpected death, which came just days after she posted an upbeat message online, has left her followers shocked and grieving.

On the morning of May 21, Moody, also known as Hannah Rose online, was last seen near the Gateway Trailhead in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, a sprawling nature area known for its desert landscapes and hiking paths.

Concerned friends reported her missing around 7:50 p.m. that evening, after being unable to reach her throughout the day. Police who arrived at the scene found her vehicle still parked at the trailhead and noted the complete lack of communication from her as highly unusual.

Initial search efforts began that same evening, supported by Scottsdale Police officers on foot and drones scanning the area. The Phoenix Police Department's air unit also assisted during the night's operation. Despite hours of effort, the search was suspended around 11:30 p.m.

The following morning, over 20 officers from various units resumed the search with support from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, which contributed both its search-and-rescue team and air unit. Civilians also joined in, hoping to help locate the 31-year-old missing hiker.

At approximately 12:05 p.m. on May 22, the sheriff's air unit located Moody's body roughly 600 yards off the designated trail. The area, while relatively open, was not easily visible from the main paths.

Authorities confirmed that her death showed no immediate signs of foul play or trauma. A full investigation is now underway, with Scottsdale detectives working alongside the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.

The police described her disappearance as "unexpected and uncharacteristic" and asked for privacy for the family as they process the tragic loss.

On May 18, just three days before she went missing, Moody shared what would become her final Instagram post. In the video, she walked through an Arizona field under a clear sky, reflecting on past life decisions, such as leaving a job, and expressing gratitude for her spiritual journey.

The post was titled, "HIKES W/ HAN | part 1 👟🌵☀️" and included the caption: "There can always be something positive in every situation, if you just look for it 😇 what are you focusing on? God uses all things for good, Romans 8:28."

As an avid hiker and self-described believer, she regularly posted reflections meant to inspire others to find strength in challenging moments.

In the hours and days after the news broke, fans flooded her Instagram with messages of sorrow, admiration, and reflection. Many were struck by the tragic timing of her final post and the powerful symbolism of her last words.

A third added, "Rest in peace Hannah! You were a perfect example of what it means to be a follower of Christ and were an inspiration to so many of us. A true light in this world and Im forever grateful that our paths have crossed🙏🏽. [sic]"

A different fan reflected on the chilling connection between her content and disappearance: "This is honestly so sad. You posted about being able to do sunset hikes again and now you're missing from a hike. 😢 [...] Love your faith-over-fear and finding-the-blessings kind of content."

One person remarked, "She shared her salvation journey then left this Earth. She was destined to be a helpful messenger of The Lord 🕊️ 🙏🏾 RIP to such a beautiful soul."

Perhaps the most poignant comment came from someone who connected directly with her final post's title: "The fact this was part 1 and there will never be a part 2, 3, 4, etc.. so heartbreaking. Rest in peace. 🕊️ [sic]"

For many, the shock of this tragedy is softened only by the clarity of Moody's voice in those final shared moments—a voice that, though now silent, continues to echo in the hearts of her followers.

Unfortunately, Moody is only the latest influencer who has died in the last month. As previously reported, Valeria Marquez was live on TikTok, addressing her fans from her beauty salon in Zapopan, Mexico, when the worst happened.

A delivery arrived during the stream, and she stepped away. She returned holding a small parcel, a stuffed animal. She smiled, tossing her blonde hair over her shoulder as she showed her followers the parcel.

Moments later, the broadcast took a tragic turn. Marquez was seen staring at a distance before she was brutally shot on camera. She collapsed in her chair, blood spreading across the desk.

The killer was not caught on camera. But the aftermath was. A woman, believed to be present during the shooting, picked up Valeria's phone and ended the stream. Her expression was blank as her face was visible for a second.

Another comment went further, "Her friend told her not to leave and when Val got shot her friend cut the live without screaming." The person went further to question why the shooter left the friend, adding, "The ex and friend were involved. Case closed. Rip Valeria."

Someone else echoed, "100% her friend had something to do cause you don't think 'hey I need to turn off the stream' cause that is the LAST thing on your mind."

The fatal shooting of Marquez is now under investigation as a possible femicide, according to officials in the Mexican state of Jalisco. The state's Attorney General's Office confirmed that a male suspect entered her salon and allegedly opened fire, killing the 23-year-old influencer.

The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. at her beauty salon located on Avenida Servidor Público in Zapopan's Real del Carmen neighborhood. Local authorities responded swiftly to an emergency call placed through the 9-1-1 system.

Shortly after, municipal police and paramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed that Marquez had no signs of life. Initial findings suggest an unidentified man shot her multiple times. The gunman then fled. Investigators have not yet made an arrest.

The Jalisco State Prosecutor's Office stated it is following femicide protocols. A Public Ministry agent, alongside the Investigative Police, is collecting statements and physical evidence. Their goal is to piece together what happened and identify those responsible.

Forensic experts from the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences processed the crime scene, documenting and collecting material for analysis.
