On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, Donny Osmond shared a video of himself in a hospital bed, receiving anesthesia before undergoing an undisclosed procedure. He performed "I'll Make a Man Out of You" from Disney's "Mulan," a song he originally recorded as the singing voice for Captain Li Shang.

As the anesthesia began to take effect, Osmond kept singing, though his voice grew weaker and his energy noticeably diminished. He continued the performance after the procedure as well, appearing groggy but determined to finish the song.

At his age, Osmond is doing all he can to stay fit and healthy. Back in 2023, he opened up about his health routine and how it helps him stay agile.

Admittedly, the performer said his time on stage doubles as his workout, as he makes sure to give it his all. "I find it difficult to go to the gym when I work so hard on stage," he admitted.

He also revealed that he follows a mostly vegan diet, though he occasionally indulges in cheese. "Moderation in everything is what I say," he explained. "A good steak every once in a while won't kill you."

One thing he and his wife have eliminated from their diet, however, is sugar — except for the natural sugars found in fruit. The artist does not drink soda, and chooses to go the healthy route whenever possible.

As for his secret to aging with grace, Osmond believes in the power of kindness and laughter. "Kindness has never been ridiculed," he said, stressing the importance of treating others the way you'd like to be treated. "Start loving life because it has been proven that if you have an optimistic attitude, you're more likely to stay healthy."

He credits his wife, Debbie, with helping him maintain balance in all aspects of his life. "Debbie has given my life stability. She keeps my feet on the ground," he lovingly shared. The couple has found comfort in turning down the noise of everyday life and simply enjoying each other's company, especially when the outside world feels overwhelming.

This grounded approach has been especially helpful for Osmond, who has battled anxiety for decades. Through it all, it was his wife Debbie who helped him stay afloat.

Nowadays, when he's not on stage, he spends time with his family, savoring every moment. He recently celebrated the Fourth of July with one of his grandchildren. "This is how I celebrated the 4th of July.❤️ To quote Katy Perry, "Baby, you're a firework!" 😂🇺🇸 #4thofJuly," he posted on Instagram.

Osmond is currently headlining a residency in Las Vegas, which has been extended through November 2025. His show at Harrah's includes a new 3D recreation of his 14-year-old self, developed with artificial intelligence.

In a special duet, the young Donny appears alongside the present-day version to perform a reimagined "Puppy Love" using original audio recordings from over 50 years ago and archival footage from the 1970s.

The show takes audiences on a musical journey through Osmond's life. Guests can request any song he has ever recorded, and he closes the performance with a full Broadway-style production of his hit "Mulan" number, "I'll Make a Man Out of You."

With his recovery underway, fans can look forward to seeing Osmond back on stage in top form. His resilience and dedication to his craft suggest he'll return to performing with the same energy and heart that have defined his decades-long career.
