TV Presenter Laura Woods Collapses Live on Air
It was supposed to be a routine night of football coverage. But what unfolded during ITV's broadcast of England's friendly against Ghana left viewers stunned — and deeply concerned.
Veteran sports broadcaster Laura Woods suddenly collapsed mid-interview in a terrifying moment caught live on air. One second, she was deep in conversation with fellow pundits Ian Wright and Anita Asante — the next, she was stumbling forward as she nearly fell.

She Collapsed — And The Camera Quickly Cut Away
The unsettling scene took place on Tuesday, 2 December, at St Mary's Stadium. Woods, 38, was anchoring ITV's pre-match coverage when she abruptly appeared to lose her balance.
Video footage captured the exact moment: Woods faltering, clutching for stability, before Wright and Asante leapt into action to support her. Within seconds, ITV switched to a wide shot of the pitch. In the background, Wright's voice could be heard asking, "You okay?" A faint "I'm fine" was barely audible from Woods.
'I'm Really Embarrassed': Woods Breaks Her Silence After On-Air Scare
Hours later, a clearly shaken Woods addressed the scare in a heartfelt Instagram Story, attempting to downplay the drama.
"Gosh that was a bit weird," she wrote. "Sorry to worry everyone, im ok, the wonderful paramedics at Saints have said its probably a virus, just need a bit of rest & hydration [sic]."
But it was her next confession that tugged at viewers' hearts.
She continued, "I'm really embarrassed that happened on tv, but a big thank you to my colleagues at ITV who have really looked after me tonight. And to Wrighty & Neets for catching me 🙈 and sorry again 🤍 x"

Her fiancé, Adam Collard, echoed her sentiment on X:
"Laura is all ok and with the right people. Thank you for all of your kind messages🤍."

Morning Sickness, Secret Pregnancy, And A 'Nightmare' Summer
The shocking incident isn't the first time Woods has pushed through serious health issues on the job. In fact, she once hid an entire pregnancy from the public while broadcasting live during one of the biggest football tournaments of her career.

Last year, Woods told The Times she was silently battling morning sickness and crippling exhaustion while hosting the Euros for ITV in the summer — all while keeping her first pregnancy a secret.

"The Euros were a nightmare," she revealed. "It was constant — the morning sickness was quite difficult to battle and I was exhausted all the time."
She added, "It didn't matter how much sleep you actually got, you'd still be knackered." Most of her colleagues were none the wiser.

'People Were Getting Suspicious': Woods Struggled To Hide Her Condition
For an entire month, Woods dodged drinks and social events with her coworkers. "You have to keep that going for the whole month. People were getting a bit suspicious," she admitted.

Being pregnant while away from home also took its toll. Woods said it was "very, very weird," adding that a friend warned her she would feel a strong urge to "nest."
"I didn't understand what that meant until I experienced it but away from home. I just wanted to buy stuff for my house all the time," she shared.

She finally broke the news to fans in July 2024 with a heartwarming Instagram post featuring a sonogram and her beloved French bulldog, captioned:
"Hey, baby 💕."
'I Felt Exposed': The Dark Side Of Online Speculation
Despite her best efforts to shield her private life, Woods confessed the pressure from online gossip became overwhelming.
"A lot of people were speculating [if I was pregnant] online while I was in Germany, and I didn't enjoy that," she lamented. "I couldn't do anything about it and I felt quite exposed having to front it up on telly."

She admitted the experience cast a shadow over what should have been a joyful time, "It all meant I couldn't enjoy the pregnancy that much, but now I'm through that phase and I can finally feel excitement."
She later gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Leo — her pride and joy with Collard.
From Career Girl To Mom Of One — Laura's Tender Family Life Now
These days, Woods is basking in the glow of new motherhood. The once fiercely career-driven presenter now frequently shares sweet snaps of her fiancé and their son on social media.
Earlier this year, she celebrated Collard's first Father's Day with a heartfelt tribute:
"Happy 1st Father's Day to this absolute DILF. Dad of The Year, no task too big or baby apparatus instructions too complicated. The way you and this little boy adore each other made me realise what it's all about. Thanks for making my life 🤍"
Unhappy: Why She Walked Away From Her Dream Job
After years of putting her career first, Woods finally hit a breaking point. The exhaustion. The trolls. The lack of work-life balance. It all became too much. She eventually quit "TalkSport" after three years, admitting, "If you don't have someone to share [things] with, you get sad, you get lonely."
She was also fending off brutal online attacks — with trolls accusing her of being "barren" and commenting on her "biological clock."
Once her schedule calmed down, Woods poured herself into family life — though she says she wouldn't change a thing about the order it all happened.
'The Noise Is Always Going To Be There': Why She Quit Social Media
Though still active in broadcasting, Woods has made a conscious decision to retreat from the toxic world of social media, often deleting the X app from her phone entirely.
"It's a really angry space, so now if I want to have a conversation about football I'll dip a toe in, but other than that life is better without it," she said. "But you have to accept the noise is always going to be there and you can't do anything about it."
