Singer Recently Opened up About Her Health

The shocking hospitalization comes only weeks after Tyler publicly discussed her health and active touring schedule while performing live shows well into her 70s.

During a March interview with Hello!, the singer revealed she still felt strong while continuing to tour internationally. "I'm fit enough at the moment, touch wood, and I'm really enjoying doing the shows," she said. "I'm still rocking on that stage with my wonderful band, and if you've got your health, you've got everything."

Tyler also explained that she practiced Pilates daily while traveling in order to maintain her strength on stage. "I do home Pilates, only 20 minutes a day - it's something I can do in my hotel rooms," she said.

The singer previously acknowledged struggling with knee issues and undergoing procedures she described as "washouts," which she said had been successful.

Music Icon Refused to Slow Down

Tyler has repeatedly insisted in recent years that she has no plans to retire from music despite her age. In a 2021 interview, she declared, "I'm quite fit for my age, thank God." She added, "And I'm never going to retire."

Born on June 8, 1951, in Skewen, Wales, Tyler rose to international fame during the 1970s after releasing "Lost in France" before later scoring massive success with "It's a Heartache."

Following throat surgery early in her career, she famously developed the raspy voice that would become one of the most recognizable sounds in pop music history.

Her career reached even greater heights in 1983 with the release of "Total Eclipse of the Heart," the chart-topping anthem that became one of the defining songs of the decade.

According to her official biography, Tyler remains active in music and continues performing internationally decades after first finding fame.

Despite the frightening health scare, her upcoming concert dates have not yet officially been canceled. Her website still lists a scheduled appearance at the SummerLUST Music Festival in Għaxaq, Malta, on May 22, 2026.

Fans around the world are now anxiously awaiting further updates as concern continues to grow over the singer's condition.
