Veteran shaves for the first time in 12 years. Now he looks like a model
Jaws dropped when this veteran finally shaved his overgrown beard.
As reported by Shared, it took a 38-year-old veteran named Josh 12 years to cut his hair and shave his beard.
Josh wore the same outfit - made up of a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and boots - every day after he was discharged from the military 12 years ago.
For some reason, Josh had decided to keep his hair and beard long. Heidi, his girlfriend, didn't take issue with it, but she made sure he kept it neat and trimmed.
With the help of no less than Oprah Winfrey, the Queen of Media, Heidi was eventually able to convince Josh to cut his hair and shave his beard.
It still took some time, though, for Josh to agree to a makeover. When he finally met the team of expert stylists in charge of giving him a new look, Josh told them: "I dare you to make me look better than I do right now."
The team was led by Project Runway star, Tim Gunn. It wasn't an easy task, but Gunn pulled it off. The lead stylist didn't chop off all of Josh's beard. For the veteran, his beard was a source of comfort. He did cut off most of his hair.
Josh's transformation surprised everyone. He looks like a completely new man - a gorgeous one who can grace the covers of magazines.
Gunn dressed Josh up in some designer clothes, including a tailored leather jacket, a pair of well-fitting jeans, a striped dress shirt, and some stylish boots.
"It's all about reflecting who they are, their core, making them better, enhancing them," Gunn told Oprah, explaining that he didn't want to overshadow Josh with his new appearance.
Heidi was more than pleased by the result of the makeover. She profusely thanked Gunn for a job well done.
