Robin Roberts steals the show in her new eye-catching dress during 'Good Morning America'

Robin Roberts celebrated the beginning of Spring and a renewal in her life.

Robin Roberts dazzled the Good Morning America audience with a gorgeous green and pink floral dress by Sis K, coordinated with Jimmy Choo black heels, and accessorized with David Yurman jewelry.

Roberts, 57, was celebrating the first day of Spring, reported Entertainment Daily on the 21st of March 2018, but she also took the opportunity to share a special memory, and perhaps inspire many of the viewers of the show.

In 2012, the beloved GMA host was diagnosed with a life-threatening disease: myelodysplastic syndrome.This is a form of cancer that attacks the bone marrow so that it does not make enough healthy blood cells.

"After that amount of time, you wonder if you're going to be able to come back. To anybody who is on their medical leave right now, keep believing, keep moving, keep breathing."

The most effective therapy, if a compatible donor is found, is a bone marrow transplant. Roberts took a year-long leave of absence from the show in order to submit to the procedure and to fight her cancer.

A year later she was back at work, but the fight against cancer is only deemed won after an all-clear of five years. Roberts was delighted to share the news that she had indeed overtaken the 5 years cancer-free mark.

Many viewers were moved by her words, and she thanked her doctors for their support, their understanding and their wholehearted conviction that she would be victorious.

Roberts' treatment for her myelodysplastic syndrome was chronicled on GMA and earned the program a 2012 Peabody Award for the coverage entitled Robin's Journey. Roberts has been a popular member of the GMA host team sincev1995.
