Being forced to celebrate apart this year, Hoda Kotb finds a way to cheer up her partner

The television personality and Today anchor, Hoda Kotb, really wanted to celebrate her partner's birthday with him, but couldn't due to the weather.

Her partner of four years, Joel Schiffman, celebrated his 60th birthday on March 21, 2018. Kotb told Kathie Lee Gifford that Schiffman was stuck in Colorado due to the heavy snowfall.

As reported by Entertainment Daily, flights were prevented from leaving early. Kotb explained to her viewers that his flight was canceled and "he's delayed a couple of days."

He will only be able to return home on Friday, March 23, 2018. Nevertheless, Kotb utilized social media to wish him a public happy birthday.

On his birthday, she shared a picture of the two of them with her 813,000 followers on Instagram. She wrote 'Happy birthday handsome!' in the caption.

She also shared a segment of her morning show on Twitter, explaining how airports shut down during massive storms like blizzards and tornadoes.

Her Instagram post has been liked more than 72,000 times in the short time it's been online. Kotb's fans also rushed to congratulate Schiffman on his birthday.

The owner of Nannerz Fashion And Glitter said she is glad that Kotb and Schiffman found each other, while Milissia Pitts said life looks good for the couple and that they look great.

Carol Watral hoped Schiffman had a 'day filled with love and laughter,' and Barbie Nefouse said it was sad that the two lovebirds couldn't be together on his special day.

Her post has garneded more than 850 comments and the birthday wishes are still streaming in by the dozen!

Kotb and Schiffman are raising an adopted baby girl, Haley Joy. The adoption was finalized on February 21, 2017, and Kotb described her daughter as a 'great equalizer in life.'
