Selena Gomez posts heartfelt message about 'beauty myth' following pictures of her scars
The famous artist had a perfect answer for the people talking about her weight gain and other imperfections.
Selena Gomez opened up about her views on the scars on her body left from her kidney transplant surgery as well as her recent much-talked-about weight gain.
According to Shared, the former Disney star was spotted during a vacation off the coast of Sydney, Australia on a boat with few friends when she did not shy away from showing off her bodily imperfections.
“When I look at my body now, I just see life. There are a million things I can do — lasers and creams and all that stuff — but I’m OK with it," the source quoted Gomez as boldly claiming.
Gomez was not only unafraid about her imperfections but was also proud of them. Her scar definitely had a positive message hidden within itself. It told the story of her survival and her struggles.
Meanwhile, several people on social media also seemed concerned about Gomez's alleged weight gain. Many stepped in to comment on her body weight and her appearance following the surgery.
The source quoted a Twitter user as writing that Gomez looked 'bit fat' in Sydney while she looked perfect in Puma photo shoots. Another user also commented by writing, 'She looks fat and her nose looks weird.'
Following the body shaming comments, fans of Gomez quickly joined the conversation to defend their favorite star.
Shared quoted a user as stating that Gomez's body is absolutely beautiful and she is not afraid of showing her body.
Another fan wrote that her Puma photo shoot was a long time ago and 'bodies don't stay the same forever.' The fan also stated that Gomez still had lupus so that might have had some effect on her body.
Still, other fans boldly warned people to stop body shaming and explained that 'everyone's body is different' and Gomez was just perfect.
