Christina Aguilera reveals secret information about past relationship with gay man 15 years after
The candid singer admitted one of her popular songs was about her heartbreak over finding out her ex was gay.
It’s been over 15 years since Christina Aguilera released her song ‘Fighter’ and though everyone knows she dips into her emotions when coming out with a song, we were not prepared for the recent revelation she spilled regarding the hit song.
Appearing in the after show of the premiere of ‘Untucked, RuPaul’s Drag Race’ the candid star was asked by one of the season 10 drag queens if “Fighter’ was about somebody in her life and she replied,
“Of course it was! He deserved it. It was heartbreaking because I found out he played for your team, not mine.”
With the glaring admission that the man she was referring to turned out to be gay, another contestant Vanessa Vanjie pointed out,
“He’s gonna see this, he’s gonna be mad.”
To which the 37-year-old singer responded,
“I hope so.”
Clearly, Christina has some old unresolved issues from the past seeing that she was still bitter over finding out her ex-boyfriend was gay. Looking back at the lyrics of the song, it’s now evident what the words were really all about.
“Well, I thought I knew you, thinking you were true/ Guess I, I couldn’t trust called your bluff time is up/ Cause I’ve had enough.”
While the mystery man was never revealed, many are now trying to guess who he is. According to Hollywood Life, among her high profile relationships, there were two men she became serious with. The first was music producer Jordan Bratman whom she married in 2005. They shared one child Max Liron and eventually divorced in 2011.
She also dated guitarist Matthew Rutler shortly after. The couple have a daughter, 3-year-old Summer Rain.
With the explosive secret she just revealed, it may have started a whole new string of talk surrounding who the man actually is. And fans can just keep on guessing until Christina makes a surprising reveal, if she ever will.
