As reported by Liftable, the anchor for KTVU News, Frank Somerville, shared an inspirational story of a young mother with four girls on Facebook.

Somerville received numerous emails when he asked his followers to send in their stories. But the story of Tawny Nelson, a single mom of four girls, really touched his heart.

In her letter, Nelson wrote about her experiences when her ex disappeared from her life completely. Her daughters are 9, 5, 2, and 6 weeks old.

Though their car was in bad shape, Nelson was left with no choice but to drive it one evening. She was desperate for food during that time.

Nelson made the trip to the store with her daughters. As she loaded them back in the truck, it was raining heavily and already dark out. She immediately turned the key but nothing happened. The truck wouldn't start.

'One of my girls accidentally left a light on. My battery was dead. My phone was also disconnected. I have no family to speak of and was on my own,' Nelson wrote.

The single mother stepped out into the pouring rain and asked people to help, but no one paid attention.

Nelson explained that she was ignored by all who passed by and that they just acted like she didn't exist.

'I was bawling and felt like the worst Mom ever,' she wrote.

Then Nelson heard a knock on the car window. When she opened the door, she saw an elderly man with a plate of food and bottles of water.

The man told her to feed herself and her girls. He added that he has a tow truck on the way and his wife will take them back home.

But the old man's kindness didn't stop there. The next morning, he sent a mechanic to Nelson’s home to fix her truck.

When Nelson asked the mechanic for the bill, he smiled at her and said that the older gentleman had paid for it.

The only payment that he asked was that Nelson “never give up and keep being an amazing mom.”

Nelson broke down and cried over the care and concern of the elderly man. She said that he revived her faith when she was falling apart.
