Millions and millions of people suffer from depression, and not just the common folk; celebrities also experience it. Recently, on April 1, 2018, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson addressed the issue.

The 45-year-old confessed that he too suffered from depression and that he had been receiving treatment ever since he saw his mother, Ata Johnson, try to commit suicide when he was only 15, as reported by the Huffington Post.

The former WWE superstar is quite known for being a very positive and influential person, and the revelation might have been surprising for some people, even his fans.

During an interview with the Express, The Rock told the story of how he saved his mother from taking her own life. He said that it all happened at Interstate 65, in Nashville, Tennessee.

According to the source, Ata stopped the car in the middle of the road, got out and started walking towards oncoming traffic. 15-year-old Dwayne rushed after her and pushed her to the gravel shoulder of the road.

To this day, she has no recollection of what she did, but The Rock will forever remember that moment. Being forced to see his mother almost die took a toll on his young mind and he had to see several therapists over the years.
