JAY-Z proudly reveals emotional moment when Blue Ivy, 6, put him in his place
- Jay-Z and Beyonce's eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, has been stealing heart left and right since the day she was born.
- And even though one would think her parents already know everything about her, the little keeps on surprising them with her witty comments and smart remarks, as Jay Z confessed in a recent interview.
AmoMama learned that the rapper will be appearing on the next episode of David Letterman’s new Netflix show, ‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,’ and in a recent sneak peek of his appearance, he’s seen talking about his daughter, his mother, the Trump administration and more.
Jay-Z and Beyoncé got married ten years ago, and in fact, they celebrated their 10th anniversary yesterday; she announced her pregnancy on live TV at the end of her performance in the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, and the couple welcomed Blue Ivy on January 2012.
Now, Blue is a big sister, as Beyoncé had her twins, Rumi and Sir last year; but the six-year-old girl is always hanging out with her parents, as they take her wherever they go.
Just last month, the smart girl offered $19.000 in the auction of an acrylic painting of the actor Sidney Poitier at the Wearable Art Gala hosted by her grandmother, Tina Knowles; she lost the piece to Tyler Perry, who offered $20.000 but took home another piece for $10.000.
The adorable girl is being raised to be a strong, independent woman, as her mother preaches in her songs, and she surprised her own father when she stood up to him and told him something she didn’t like straight to his face in a calm manner.
Jay Z recounted the story in his interview with Letterman after being asked if the fact that his upbringing was so different to how his kids are being raised, in terms of emotional and financial support.
To which he started saying he wasn’t bothered at all and in fact was living in the present for his kids, and then to put an example of how close he is to his kids, he delved into the story with Blue Ivy:
‘I told her to get in the car the other day because she was asking a thousand questions and we had to leave for school. So we’re driving, and I hear a little voice. ‘Dad?’ I turn around and she said, ‘I didn’t like when you told me to get in the car the way you told me. It hurt my feelings.’ She’s six!’
And he added that he found her bravery to speak up her mind so powerful that he replied:
‘That’s the most beautiful thing you’ve ever said to me.’
Blue Ivy sure is taking after her mother, who’s easily one of the most fierce and powerful women in the entertainment industry and possibly the world, so we’re glad that Jay Z and Beyoncé are doing such an amazing raising their kids.
